This puller was much heavier duty than I expected and works great. I initially got this to fix a wire fence that a tree fell on and I need to repair, but I have also used it to pull a zipline cable for my kids and along with a come along, it did the job quick and easy. My only "con" would be that when getting the puller set up and before their is tension on it, the cable can slide out of the jaws but still inside the puller. Just takes a bit of finessing to get everything lined up until you have tension on it... then, pull away.

While there is a gap that even 1/4" cable can slide in if you are not careful. This does work very well. Just takes two people to set it up and get it started.

This is a heavy 2T cable puller. What I like is it has the rating on it, because in a few years, I wouldn't remember the size. Importantly it has a movable gate/door to close over the open side of the wire channel, so the wire doesn't slide out the side. This gate/door has no way to lock it in place, would be better if it did. Another issue to watch for is this is coarsely made, and not finished well, so there could be metal spurs/splinters on it. I pulled the spur off mine and will rub it with some silicone carbide sandpaper to smooth it a bit. My use for this is to set some cables in place, now I can pull hard on them and use the free end of the cable to attach a turnbuckle permanently, leaving lots of turnbuckle tightening to pull the wire fully tight. Can't use a come-along on the cable as it required a loop to hook and then is in the way.
