  • Works very well, holds cat6 wire securely.
Tool matches keystone and works perfectly. Easy-to-use with the keysone fitting easily with wires into tool and crimper nicely. The wire is held extremely well in keystone and is not removed easily- which is great for use in racks where items have to be moved and placed during configuration and installation. ... show more

  • Easy. Beyond simple.
I mean this tool is kind of a waste using a specific brand of keystone. . . But it works, is very fast, reliable and easy. I imagine if you were using this tool for regular installs of dozens or hundreds of keystones it would add up spending 1.5x more on connectors vs builder grade ones. But for a home install you will not even notice. Even if you are doing hundreds. . . your time and the low failure rate because it is so easy will still probably make it worth it. As a home user. . . I didn't need this tool. Let's be honest it will be yet another specialty tool in my garage that will collect dust for 10 years until a family member or friend needs help with a project, and I will pull out just the right tool for the job and save the day. You know. . . every white-middle-class New Balance with white socks 40+ year old man's hero fantasy. Right up there with cleaning the storm drains during a thunderstorm in your 20-year-old broken in gym shorts and getting a nod from all the neighbors, while your neighbor down the street was held up by his wife and can only look on forlorn that he missed his shot. ... show more

  • Great Punch down tool! Most Definitely recommend.
purchased a second one since I was so happy with the first one. Both the punch tool and the keystone jacks work excellent. Terminated over 150 keystone jacks with no issues. Not a single bad termination ... super happy with the product.

  • Great price and quality made, not as easy to use as I thought it would be.
Seems like a nice tool and may take a bit more practice to have quality terminations but I did two cable ends and had to manually do them both again. Didn't really save time and wasn't as effective as I'd hoped. The tool quality is good and maybe with some practice I could trust it but for home use and a few terminations that once I make I'll probably never touch again the old-school punch down tool proved to be a better fit for me. The cost isn't bad but I'm not sure I'll be using it much after the initial attempt failing. (Basically not all 8 wires were well seated and on a 2.5gbps connection I was getting 4 wires worth of 100mbps) ... show more

  • Easy to use. Great results.
I really appreciate the simplicity of use. Purchased the system to do a 90 drop project along with the connectors. Had zero connector failures, and only had to re-punch one connector. After the project wrapped up, I ordered a second crimper to keep in my truck.

Worked perfectly, excellent product

  • Excellent tool saving tons of time but may not last long
First off I love this tool. Fast and efficient use of your time when terminating tons of keystone jacks for network installations. As others have pointed out it only works with 90 degree keystone jacks by the same manufacturer but they are good quality and about the same price as others. The reason for the 3 stars is due to the quality since it broke after 10 months and having only used on three job sites. I would estimate I terminated less than 150 jacks before it fell apart in my hands: one of the main pins broke in half so not easily fixed. I rely on this product and quickly ordered 2 new units cause I have a big job coming up. Now I have the luxury of a backup if it one fails. I would recommend with the caveat that build quality may not be the best. ... show more

  • My first time working with keystone Cat6 jacks, went well
I'm a geek with fairly extensive experience with coaxial networks and that probably helped somewhat, but I had never put cat6 jacks (keystone or otherwise) on Cat6 cable before. The above images are the result of using this product with one of their keystone jacks. For a first time users, it went extremely well. I only had a couple jack early on in the process that failed, always the blue pair with them (last pair I insert before punchdown) so I suspect that was my error. Some notes for others - things I did learn the hard way. To cut the Cat6 shielding, I used a tool from trueCable. You have to have the dial on it set just right so it only scores the Cat6 shielding or the blade can nick the wire pairs. The proper setting seems to very by Cat6 maker so practice first. Twist to finish breaking where it scored, save the empty tube. It probably doesn't matter if you use the T568A or T568B standard as long as both ends are terminated the same, but I always just use B because compatibility is 6P4C color codes doesn't matter to me. When untwisting a pair to lay it out in the jack, use the empty shield tube that you cut off. You can use your fingernail to start the separation, but then put the empty tube over one of the wires in the pair and it just easily separates the pair. When doing T568B I do the orange pair first, making sure the remaining Cat6 shield is very close to the back of the jack. Then I do the brown pair, then the green pair (same side as brown pair), then finally the blue pair (same side as orange pair). With one hand I hold the tool that does the punch-down and with the other, a hold the shielding of the Cat6 where it meets the keystone jack. After making the connection, I use a Klein Tools Scout Pro 3 to verify the termination is correct - and then insert the keystone jack in the plate and re-test. First few I made I had a high failure rate with blue pair but after the first few that stopped being an issue. Speed I'm getting during early AM hours when no one else is using the Internet maxes out the Internet connection, and sustained large downloads work well, so this tool with the matching jacks seems like a good combination. Sorry for being somewhat long-winded but there doesn't seem to be a good instructional video for this specific tool, so I thought I'd share my experience using it for the first time as a n00b. ... show more
