It does exactly what you think it would do. It is a different field to have this as compared to a cotton towel. The only downside so far is after a few months has begun to smell. But that probably has much more to do with the fact that I have to leave it in the gym bag in the car at work.

I have used this multiple times now when traveling for a beach blanket/towel and it is holding up well. It is convenient to throw in a suitcase or backpack and doesn’t take up a lot of space. I ordered the bright pink and my only word of caution is to make sure you wash this separately for the first wash as the color does bleed. pros - quick drying (awesome for frequent use/to be shared in a pinch), light weight, easy to pack for long hikes, thick enough to sit on as a packable picnic blanket cons - yellow color stained from dirt/grass easily (does not change usefulness though!) wish it came in a more slightly more compact bag. it could totally be packed/squished into a smaller (would be better for backpacking that way) ... show more

I like it for the most part. Great size, lightweight, absorbent, fast drying and all that good stuff. But I docked a star for now because it REAKS like Chamois Leather or something like that. I'll be washing it with some vinegar and hopefully that will help. But the smell is pretty strong still after a few washes. Especially when wet. (Just like leather?) I got the grey so no issues with color bleeding at least, which was the biggest complaint I saw in the reviews. So that's nice. We'll see if the vinegar wash helps. 🤞 Will update. (UPDATE 06/2023 Smell is mostly gone! When it gets wet, it's still there just a bit, but I figure it'll keep fading with time. 👍) ... show more
