I purchased the cardboard cutter, and it says it’s good for children. - Maybe for older children! Because once the blade is exposed, it is a SHARP doubled edged serrated blade! But It cuts cardboard like a dream! It works VERY well! But I would never give it to small children to use. It’s VERY SHARP! I was looking for a handheld, analog, tool to use to cut cardboard, besides an electric one that you commonly see on here. I didn’t want to invest that much in a tool I wouldn’t use too much. So I bought this. Like I said, it works very well cutting cardboard, but it is aimed/marketed for children, and this tool is NOT A TOY! It’s a little saw than can cut flesh easily. I probably shouldn’t have done this but I rubbed it against my finger with a tiny bit of pressure and it left a decent cut. Anyway, if you do buy this for your kids, watch them and teach them that it is sharp and not to be used like a toy.. But it cuts like butter and I would recommend it to all my adult friends and I don’t recommend trying to see if it will cut flesh, like I did…lol ... show more

I bought these for a Cub Scout event where the kids were building projects out of cardboard boxes. We saved Amazon boxes for a few weeks, brought tape, glue, markers, and other supplies, and these were a great addition. They cut cardboard surprisingly well while being much safer than handing out utility knives. The kids were able to create everything from vehicles to forts and all kinds of imaginative projects with very little help from the adults. If you're planning a Scout event, classroom activity, birthday party, or just a rainy-day craft project at home, these are absolutely worth having. They gave the kids much more independence while giving the adults a lot more peace of mind. I'd definitely buy them again for any group craft activity. ... show more

This is great.... for adults!! Or older kids. The blade is very sharp. My daughter used it once or twice and cut herself, so we packed it away for a while. I got it out recently for one of my projects and it cuts through cardboard like butter. I like it a lot. I don't think it is safe for kids as even I have cut myself now 3 times, and one cut was quite deep. It's a great product although I do think it is way too sharp for kids, and that's why I'm only giving it 4 stars. ... show more

Pros: -Great for smaller hands. -My 7yo can easily take the sheath off and put it back on by herself. -The blade works well enough to cut cardboard (but it does take some effort). -Seems reasonably safe for a cutting tool, I like the that the top of the blade is rounded and blunt. Cons: -The puncture tool does not work very well, and actually broke within the first 10 minutes of use! Maybe Costco shipping boxes are its kryptonite?! I guess for a $5 tool it’s fine but I do wish the puncture tool was sturdier. ... show more
