I bought this for my husband, who loves fishing and gear. And more gear. And still more gear. He loves his toys! We took it out yesterday for the first time and were both amazed. It took almost no time to install and activate. It did exactly what it was supposed to do and was easy to operate. The screens are easy to read and have so many options. It tracks the water depth, temperature and will even tell you how fast the current is moving. There weren't many fish out and about, but this unit did see the ones we were looking for. It's an awesome, low cost and low maintenance option. We're taking it out to deeper water this week on the boat and have high expectations, given its stellar performance yesterday. Great fish finder for float tube. I like the ease of use (after set up) and the great visibility from my iPhone screen versus the much smaller screens on other fish finders The only challenge was in the set up. The instructions were not very clear that you need to go into the Hawkeye app settings to enable Bluetooth. I kept going to that iPhone Bluetooth settings which did not work. Once I figured out that I needed to go to the Hawkeye app settings and toggle on Bluetooth everything worked perfectly. ... show more

I waited to write a review until I used it a few times on the pond. I fish a pond that hasn't been stocked in a while and finding any fish in it during the winter is hard. The fish finder gave me a clear picture of the bottom of the pond. Unfortunately for me, my pond is filled with a lot of aquatic grasses so false returns for fish on their basic setting are multiple. However, using the HD setting, I can see the whole return to distinguish between grass and fish. I think the biggest difference for individuals buying this is the assumption that they will see an area like a forward facing sonar. Keep in mind this the return on the screen is a straight down representation of where the bobber is, so reeling it in slowly allows you to see the whole pond. Only thing I'd like to see from the app is a ground mapping option that would compile all the data into a map but maybe they will do that in the future. As far as bluetooth connectivity, I never lost it and I was casting about 60-70 feet out. I will say though the accuracy will waiver about 70 feet but I'm not complaining. ... show more

It takes full day to charge, but the battery doesn’t stay charged at all. The same fish pop up and even when we’ve taken it out of the water it still “detects” the same fish. Not worth the money at all.
