  • Perfect for my lap harp
Size: SBT-HP
I wanted to be able to use a pedal with my lap harp for ambient sound but also didn’t want to drill into it to add a pickup. This Fishamn pickup was easy to install and works great with my pedals and amp (also Fishman). I am playing with what I want to do with the hanging wires still as if I leave inside and use my strap I get a bit of vibration, but if I place outside of the soundboard it stops. I’ll figure out a permanent solution in time. I couldn’t recommend this more for ease of installation, sound and value. ... show more

  • Works O.K. for a grand piano
Size: SBT-HP
I purchased this piano pickup after dealing with one too many feedbacks trying to mic the grand piano at my church (the piano happens to be in front of the main speakers and is difficult to mic and amplify without causing bad feedback). I taped it to the bottom of the piano sound board (around middle 1/3) and it picks up the full range of the piano---there *might* be a small resonance at the high end of the piano, but it wasn't too bad. One caution/deviation from instructions that came with the pickup: it worked better for us just duct taping it to the bottom of the piano, rather than using the double-sided tape that came with the pickup. I suspect because the double-sided tape works partially as sound insulator, sitting between the transducer and the piano (I thought about epoxying the transducer to the piano, but since it works reasonably being duct taped and it hasn't fallen off yet, we are keeping it taped for now). ... show more

  • Surprisingly nice
Size: SBT-HP
Really nice piano pickup for the money. Installed this in a church so they could stream their piano and worked like a charm. Sounded nice in the room as well. Good buy.

  • Perfect for the harp
Size: SBT-HP
I play the harp. It is always so hard to find a good mic for the harp! This one was perfect! I haven’t had a chance to use it much, but it catches to sound perfectly. I can just tuck it away in my soundbox and you can barely know it’s there! No need to try positioning mics and being crowded by all the mic stands. Those days are gone ... show more

  • Much better than expected
Size: SBT-HP
This was much better than we expected. We were going to buy a Dusty Strings Harp pickup but just couldn't afford it and needed something in time for a gig. Because we still plan to upgrade to the more robust pickup system, we attached the pickup with packing tape to the sound board so it will be easy to remove. We had to try a few positions to find the best spot. It's interesting - we thought we'd have to go as far away as possible from the bass strings so they wouldn't over-power the sound. It turns out getting a little closer to the base notes was better. The further we got north above the center, the worse the bass notes sounded. It's like the long sound wave started to get dissonant in those positions. Going south of the center got us the best results and the high notes were still clear enough. The bass notes were not over-powering there. Too far south was not great either - midrange became muddy. ... show more

  • Simple but gets the job done
Size: SBT-HP
Good value for the price. Simple but effective. Used it to amplify an acoustic harp that I’m using as an interim instrument while my main instrument gets some serious repairs completed.

  • Mic solved a major mic issue for the church
Size: SBT-HP
This microphone worked on the church's piano better than any other microphone. It is also free of feedback issues since it attaches to the underside of the piano's sound board . It truly does work well for both high and low impedance inputs . When used on low impedance , the mic volume has to be increased a bit , but the high sound quality is still there. ... show more
