  • Shad net
I needed a tight knit net wit a long handle to scoop shads at the retaining wall. This is perfect.

  • Great Reach, Built for Convenience
I recently picked up this 85-inch adjustable net, and it’s been a solid addition to my gear, especially for kayak and bank fishing. The extension pole is the standout feature. It’s perfect for landing fish when you're high up on a bank or trying to keep a kayak stable. It functions well despite its size, it folds down surprisingly well. It’s easy to tuck away in a gear bag or a tight storage compartment. The mesh is sturdy enough to handle heavier fish like catfish and salmon without feeling like it’s going to snap. The telescoping mechanism can be a little stiff if sand or salt gets in it, so I’d recommend a quick rinse after use. It’s also slightly heavier than a fixed-length net, but that’s a fair trade-off for the extra 7 feet of reach. Overall, it’s a reliable, heavy-duty net that offers great value for anyone targeting larger species. ... show more

  • Using it for crabbing and it's working well!
I've got family down in the Maryland/Delaware region and they're big into crab "fishing" whenever they take a week or weekend trip to the shore. I picked this up for them to use with their single lines (as opposed to the bigger traps I also got for them) because the current shallow net they have allows the smarter crabs to run off the side whereas this is plenty deep and keeps them caught even if they release the bait on the line. The downside being that it can be a little more involved getting them free of the net if they decide to grab on to it, but usually they're pretty focused on hanging onto the bait so this just ends up being a bit of insurance for bringing them on land. Then it's just a matter of setting it down to let the sides drop away and the crab (assuming it's sized right for keeping/eating) goes into the cooler! The portability of this net is nice since the full extension of 85 inches is pretty substantial, but it doesn't take up a ton of room in the car or in storage at home. It's light enough for my niece and nephew to use it, but feels durable enough, especially for crabbing. And all the parts telescope so nothing really to worry about in terms of assembly. As far as value goes, it was listed for $19.99 when I ordered it which is pretty low cost for a long, collapsible net like this, so I'd definitely rate this as a solid deal. ... show more

  • Beyond Expectations: Stronger Than My Old Nets, Despite Being Collapsible
I hooked a fish so big I couldn’t get it into the boat or onto the pier by myself. I know how crucial this net is. I only made that mistake once. This net makes sure I don’t have to deal with that mess again. I’d never seen a multi-piece net before, but this one can change sizes to fit whatever you’re doing. One thing I really like: you can take it apart. No more having it awkwardly sticking out of your car window on the drive home. It actually comes in five different sizes, so it works pretty much anywhere you fish. I’m buying two, one for me and one for a buddy who fishes from his canoe. I always see his old net dangling off the side, getting in the way. This one’s so much more compact, it won’t be a hassle. The description says it’s waterproof. It BETTER BE, nobody wants a soggy, falling-apart net when you’re out on the water. Honestly, this net surprised me. I wasn’t sure a collapsible net would hold up against a big fish, but it handled it just fine. The only real struggle was my own strength hauling in the fish, not the net. It’s actually sturdier than any net I’ve owned before, so I can tell they didn’t skimp on materials. I’ll update later on how it holds up after a season or two in the water. I’ve had nets rot on me before, which is always a letdown. At least you can buy replacement baskets if you need to swap one out. I’ve only tried this in freshwater so far, not saltwater. If you’re going after a 20-pound redfish, good luck with that, but for big salmon, I’m not sure this net is quite big enough. Always double-check the measurements before you order. A few last things: I didn’t see a rubber coating or knotless mesh (that stuff helps protect the fish’s scales), so keep that in mind. Clean the threaded sections now and then so they don’t get gunked up, and a little reel oil every once in a while wouldn’t hurt. Don’t crank the sections together like you’re Superman or you’ll strip the threads. Bottom line: this net is a solid addition to your fishing gear, and for the price, I’d definitely recommend it. Tell your buddies, too; Tell them it extends to a ridiculous 20 feet. You know how we anglers are with our gear (and our fishing/net stories). ... show more

  • Good value for the price
The net and handle seem solid and with different length extensions that can be screwed together it can be adjusted for the type of location/watercraft you are using for fishing. There is some weight to it due to the metal but not bothersome, As described earlier this has adjustable, not telescoping handle, that may limit quick versatility. Telescoping ability can come in handy, especially when me and my son fish from a canoe but that is not a dealbreaker Regardless, I think it is 10 times better than flimsy cheap net or no net, good value for the price point and should work for 90% of the situations. ... show more

  • Adjustable, Sturdy, and Portable Fishing Net
This fishing net has a very sturdy and adjustable pole, which makes reaching farther areas much easier. The collapsible design is lightweight and easy to handle, and the grip feels comfortable for extended use. Although I haven’t used it in water yet, the overall feel of the net is solid and built to last. I did test it indoors, and it worked perfectly to catch a bat that was flying around, which shows how functional it is. The deep net provides plenty of space for safely securing whatever I plan to catch, including frogs, newts, tadpoles, and turtles in our pond this spring. The adjustable sections extend smoothly, and the net collapses easily for storage. The size, portability, and sturdy construction make it feel like a great value. Overall, it’s a high-quality, practical tool for pond, river, or outdoor use. ... show more
