It works best when the cap is placed on the back end of the pen so it is the length of a typical pen. Been using these for years. If you are a left handed writer these are a blessing from the "gods of technology" for writing. No more smeared ink and fighting the rolling. The pressurized cartridge keeps the rolling and smooth, it also holds a lot of ink. My record is almost a year of using it on a daily for copious amounts of writing before I lost the pen. I have not ever run a refill dry. The pen is so good it develops "legs", and is one of my favorite Christmas gifts, to give, as they have "affordable" units. I often get request for a repeat on these gifts and the different colored refills. Despite the "taking a walk" problem it is cheaper for me to buy one of these than all the cheap disposables I lose in a year when I try to economize. It is just expensive enough to keep track of, and cheap enough to afford, and write better than the "expensive" pens, and I have tried all the brands, including those that cost more than my Mac and Iphone.

I've been a fan of fisher space pens for a long time. I would several and i wanted to add a bullet pen to my collection, but i also wanted something that i could carry around with me everywhere i go. This pen is perfect for that. The pressurized ink lets you write at any angle on almost any surface including wet surfaces. The ink is a nice, smooth, medium 1.0 line and what i really like about it is that when it says "black ink" it really means "black" not grayish or something lighter than black. Brass is a really cool color, its unique and it was what drew me to the pen, the only problem is that the color on the pictures is a bit dull compared to the actual product. In reality isnt brass but a very shiny gold. This wasnt exactly the color i wanted hence the 4/5 stars. However, it still is an attractive pen that does its job well. It has a grip that allows you to write without the pen slipping even if you have dry or sweaty hands. Bottom line: a great pen, one that you can use everyday that will last you for years. I'd recommend it to anyone.

Like many, I own a few Fisher Space Pens of different varieties. This Lacquered Brass pen is unique in that it has these circular etched lines all the way up and down the barrels for a really good grip when writing. These lines mean you do not have to hold it so tight since it will not slip in your hand. I find the cap also holds better because of them. The clip as well has better grip. I have this pen in a sheath that I carry with my Leatherman multi-tool and it fits (without slipping) into the side pockets and the clip helps hold it just that much better. It's the same exact size as always. Of course it writes extremely well as expected from Fisher's unique pressurized refills. I highly recommend this pen. Well done! to Fisher again.

I like this pen for sooooo many reasons. Not only does this pen write upside down, it is very smooth. I have one with the fine point ink cartridge along with one the regular/medium point. I honestly cannot see a difference. I personally like the gold(ish) version with the clip. It fits in everything - billfolds, wristlets, phone cases... The Space pen comes in great presentation plastic latch box. I have given the many versions of this pen sold here on Amazon as presents. The recipients really like and treasure the pens, always. The pen is 5 1/2” opened. It is 3 7/8” with the top closed. Just a great pen that has, and does, last for years and years. :)

I can't speak to how well the finish wears as I've only had the product about 2 weeks thus far, but I've noticed no detectable wear as of yet. I've likewise had no problems as yet with the clip. The pen, however, is otherwise as perfect bullet Fisher Space Pen. I kept losing my other Space Pens, my favorite being the rainbow Titanium, and while that is a better pen with no worries about the finish, it is also more expensive, and given my propensity for losing pens, this seems like a cheaper but very attractive alternative.

The brass, gold-color Fisher pen looks great, writes well, and has a great, solid, well-made feel. It’s the perfect size for a pants or shirt pocket-carry pen, to clip to your polo shirt button area, or to pop into your pocket organizer, such as the leather Hitch and Timber Runt (pictured). I carry it all of those ways. It looks equally at home in the office at a high-dollar document signing meeting as it does as a pocket pen for restaurant receipt signing. Get the clip with it- you are less likely to lose the pen that way. Ask me how I know.
