  • Awful quality
For a Fisher-Price toy, I'm completely disappointed. It is a very small size, which wouldn't be bad if it had any sound to it at all. I expected it to at least be able to make some music with it, but really it's such a deadening sound that nothing I tried made it sound right. Also disappointed that the mallet has no where to attach to the xylophone. So I fear it will easily be lost in our toy box. I'm trying to figure out a way to have it be attached when being stored. There are definitely better Xylophone versions out there. I don't recommend this one at all. ... show more

  • Fun and Educational, But Requires a Bit of Technique!
The Fisher-Price Toddler Toy Wooden Xylophone is a great musical activity toy for young kids! 🎶✨ It’s bright, sturdy, and colorful, which immediately grabs my toddler’s attention. It’s a fun way for them to engage with music and develop their motor skills while exploring different sounds. The toy encourages creativity and learning, making it a wonderful developmental tool for kids 2+ years old. However, I did notice that to produce different sounds, you have to hit the middle section of each bar. Most of the time, this results in the same sound, which can be a bit confusing for younger kids who are trying to understand how to play distinct notes. It takes a little practice and precision, but once they get the hang of it, it’s a fun learning experience. Overall, this xylophone is a great toy for introducing children to music and sound, just be prepared for the learning curve to hit the right spots for different sounds! It’s a wonderful addition to any toddler's toy collection. 🎵 ... show more

  • Fisher price fail times 1000
The media could not be loaded. Fisher-Price Toddler Toy Wooden Xylophone Musical Activity for Developmental Play for Kids Ages 2+ Years is the biggest disappointment in a brand or a toy remake that was always such a classic. My grown kids had this brand xylophone and loved it. I saw this and grabbed it for my grandkids to have in the playroom at our house. I still cannot believe the brand actually released a product this bad. First of all it hardly works. A kid would have to hold this tiny little thing about the size of my hand, in just the right way and hit it directly in the middle of each bar to make a sound. Anything else is muffled and flat. Next, its cheaply made and won't last through one kid much less the way this toy by the same brand use to last for numerous kids to enjoy in the same family and still end up handed down to more kids. There is NO WHERE to place or hold the tool to strike the xylophone. It used to be connected by a string in the old days...now its tee tiny and loose and will be lost in no time making the whole thing useless. We have had a baby boom of grand babies, ages 5 to newborn and have purchased so many toys lately to fill a play room at our house and an outdoor play area we are working on too. I have been so disappointed with some name brand toys lately, but this one is definitely the worst. Not worth the price or the box it came in. I seldom if ever give a bad review because I check reviews first, or I order things that tend to work as I expected they would--so for this to get a 2 star review from me says a lot. I made a video showing the size and sound and keep in mind, that sound is amplified by my phone microphone--it sounds so so much worse to the natural ear. Definitely not something our grandkids played with more than 2 minutes. ... show more

  • Good but Small and can be Difficult
I bought this Fisher-Price xylophone for my toddler, and while the bright colors and sturdy wood construction are great, the sound quality is disappointing. It’s difficult to get distinct notes unless you hit the bars in the exact right spot, which can be frustrating for young kids. The mallet also doesn't have a place to be stored, making it easy to lose. ... show more

  • Cute toy - perfect for toddlers
Perfect toy for toddlers. Not much to say - either a toddler loves it or they don't. My niece loved it but of course - moved on to other toys & contraptions. But it's a toy meant for co-play & engagement so make the effort to sound out a few songs, make happy faces and teach them simple tunes and rythms. This toy was a lot smaller than expected but it's well built and it's got the name behind it. Every kid needs one of these. ... show more

  • Yikes... disappointment ahead
While beautiful, this xylophone does not function as expected which is detrimental to a learning toddler. After reading the reviews I tried this toy out ahead of time and I'm glad I did. I can imagine having given this to my daughter the frustration she'd have felt in this toy not performing by making a sound as intended. I can't believe I'm typing this about Fisher Price but skip this one. ... show more

  • Somewhat of a disappointment
The media could not be loaded. Our first grandchild will be born soon, and even though it will be a while before she will be old enough to play with it, I couldn’t resist getting this toy for her. Fisher Price, in my opinion, has always set the standard for toys for young children; therefore, this xylophone was a bit of a disappointment when it arrived. It’s small, but the size isn’t as much of an issue as the fact that it produces very little sound. I was remembering the FP xylophone that my niece had when she was a child, and this one doesn’t even compare. The plain stick, with no ball on the end, will barely tap the keys without using a lot of strength to hit them pretty hard. I, personally, would prefer to pay more to have one like the original FP xylophone than to pay less for this model. ... show more
