I bought these for my grandson when he was about 3 months old. At that age he wasn't quite ready to play with them, but once he got a little older they quickly became one of his favorite toys. Now at 9 months, he reaches for them all the time. He loves shaking them to make noise, and it's so fun watching his face light up every time. Here are a few things I really like: Bright, colorful design that grabs his attention Easy for little hands to hold Lightweight and perfect to pack in a diaper bag for trips Great quality for the price One thing to be aware of: once babies start enthusiastically shaking them, they may accidentally bonk themselves (or you!) in the face. It has happened a few times, but it hasn't been a big issue. They've held up very well with frequent use, and I expect they'll still be in great shape for future grandchildren. I recently purchased the Fisher Price Newborn Toys Rattle 'N Rock Maracas for my 4-month-old baby, and let me tell you, these things are a hoot! These colorful maracas come in a set of two - one blue and one orange - and are the perfect size for little hands to grasp and shake. First of all, the design of these maracas is just hilarious. They look like a cross between a giant pill capsule and a cartoon character's nose. I couldn't stop giggling when I first pulled them out of the box. But my baby didn't seem to care about the appearance - he was immediately drawn to the bright colors and started shaking them with all his might. One of the best features of these maracas is the soft, squishy material they're made of. They're like little stress balls with jingle bells inside. So not only can my baby shake them for a fun noise, he can also chew on them to his heart's content without hurting his gums.
