What can I say? This is a very well-priced, basic fish net. I keep nano fish and shrimp, and this works perfectly for them. The mesh is soft and small, so it does a great job at catching even small, delicate critters. It also works well for aqua scaping, to scoop trimmed plant pieces out of the aquarium water. The net is a good size for smaller aquariums (mostly because the handle isn't super long, so it doesn't reach down to the bottom of larger tanks). The net part itself is a decent size for small-medium sized aquatic life. It's a bit large for some of my small shrimp tanks, but I'd say a good size for any aquarium 5 gallons or larger, as long as you don't have so much hardscape that the net doesn't fit into the tank. This is a solid small fish net with a very sturdy handle. I use these nets in my fountain pond in my yard to fish out debris, birdseed and pollen that covers the fountain area, and this aquarium net has the smallest mesh of all the nets I’ve used. The small net mesh does mean it moves slower in the water than nets with larger mesh, which doesn’t affect my use but if you have fish that dart quickly you might find the mesh slows you down a bit. I have another net that is similar in size that will scoop out the larger leaves and other debris faster, but this fish net actually pulls up sediment (sand and silt) from the concrete bottom of the fountain! I’m really pleased that it catches fine debris that slips through larger nets. It has been a good “second stage” net after pulling the larger debris out, and I’m only able to use small nets to get around the pump housing in the fountain - this is the perfect size at about 4” x 3”. The handle is 7 inches long (10 inches from the net to the end of the handle), which is fine for my use with the fountain, and it doesn’t bend easily which is good. The handle is plastic coated with a green plastic grip so I don’t worry about it rusting. ... show more

Pump gave out already. Had it less than a month. The automatic feeder has a mind of its own. I set it up to feed once a day and it would just continuously dump food in the tank so I just disconnected it which sucks because it's one of the main reasons I got it.

This is a very small, straightforward aquarium net, and for what it is meant to do it works perfectly fine. The overall length is about 13 inches, with a roughly 4-inch square net opening, so it’s clearly designed for small aquariums, betta tanks, shrimp tanks, or nano tanks. In that setting it’s actually a good size because it’s easy to maneuver in tight spaces and doesn’t take up much room in the tank. The mesh is very fine and soft, which is good if you’re catching delicate fish like bettas or shrimp. It also works well for scooping out leftover food or debris during tank cleaning. The handle has a twisted metal core with a plastic coating, so it feels a bit sturdier than the really cheap aquarium nets that bend easily. There’s also a rubber loop at the end, which makes it easy to hang on a hook or rack when you’re not using it. One thing that feels a bit like marketing stretch is the description mentioning use in “small ponds.” With a total length of only about 13 inches and a small 4-inch net head, this is realistically an aquarium tool, not something most people would use in a pond. For ponds you’d usually want a much longer handle and a bigger net. The packaging is very basic — just a simple plastic sleeve with a small card — but that’s pretty typical for small aquarium tools. Overall, it’s a simple, functional net that does exactly what you’d expect for aquarium maintenance. If you need a compact net for a small fish tank, this one works well. I am using this net to pick up both large and fine floating debris in the aquarium for my turtle. The mesh fabric is soft and has thread spacing that captures everything and moves without resistance through the water. It has a very sturdy handle that is coated with a silicone or rubber like material making it comfortable to hold. It is a good size for my tank as I can reach every part of it and easily maneuver around the filter, ramp, etc. There is never more than 6 inches of water in the tank so my hands stay dry. I like the green color of this net as it sort of blends in with other tank accessories. This is a good quality, very functional aquarium net that works well is comfortable to use, and is a good value. ... show more
