When you have been keeping tanks for years, with 15 of them built with the traditional black rim it’s always amazing to start using these rimless and frameless tanks. Being able to build beautiful aquascaping that extend beyond the tank. So, the first tank had arrived but it was a box inside another box so the fragile sticker wasn’t known. So you know what happened. Second one arrived perfectly wrapped and secured. Of course, you should always water test every aquarium you get no matter where you get it from. I was nervous to take this aquarium out of the box, as a corner of the outer box had been crushed inward a bit. Fortunately the packaging directly surrounding the tank protected it from any damage. I was going to come up with an aquascape idea for this tank before I set it up, but I ended up using it as a hospital tank almost immediately. No leaks, no cracks, accidentally banged a large piece of lava rock on the bottom without incident, so it seems pretty sturdy. I like the inclusion of the leveling mat, a nice little extra that you don't always get. All my other tanks have had rims so this is my first rimless tank. I know that rimless tanks are more expensive ,so the price point seems fairly reasonable. I'd recommend this tank if you're looking for a betta tank, a shrimp tank, or a tank for a small school of nano fish. ... show more

This is the third tank I've purchased online from Amazon, and as always, there's some concern about shipping a glass tank. Fortunately, it arrived in a sturdy shipping box with a fragile sticker and reinforced plastic corner protectors on the exterior. However, the internal packaging was a little minimal, consisting of stretch wrap and thin Styrofoam corner protectors, along with random broken sheets of Styrofoam stuffed between the tank and the box. While it worked, it was noticeably less packing material than I've seen before. Despite this, the NINEMAGIC Fish Tank arrived intact. Setting aside the packaging, the tank itself is of very good quality. I've owned several cheap rim tanks and some higher-end models, and the NINEMAGIC tank leans towards the higher end. It's solid and heavy, with crystal-clear glass. Unlike some tanks with 45-degree miter joints that offer better strength and glue surface, this tank features a butt joint. However, the butt joint was expertly done with no excess silicone, and for its size, the joint shouldn't pose a significant issue with water pressure. I haven't set up the tank for my planned saltwater scape yet, but I conducted an initial water test, and there were no leaks, which is the most critical consideration when purchasing a tank. Overall, it's an attractive tank with top-notch craftsmanship in terms of silicone application and joint construction. The glass clarity is excellent, and it came with a thin foam mat, although this isn't particularly unique. If I were to nitpick, the price is slightly higher than some comparable products on Amazon, but it's still much more affordable than big-name branded tanks. ... show more

This was well packed with no damage at all, though I was surprised that the box was not marked as being fragile- that's something I would strongly suggest the seller try to change. Aside from that, the tank is beautiful and I am so excited to get it set up! I put a light on it and seeing it fully illuminated made me speechless, it's just so nice. I have never had a rimless tank before and this stands out as being such a high quality piece in comparison to all of my standard ones, I see why it's considered a show tank. It could be my imagination but the glass seems a little thicker than my other aquariums, though overall it's more lightweight than those too. The leveling mat was a really nice addition and having the solid black bottom makes me wish I had chosen a darker substrate, but I think my natural sand I chose will still look glorious under the light. The glass is so clear, I never realized my other tanks weren't the same. The silicone looks flawless, no excess or bubbles, if this was done by hand- give that guy a raise, seriously. I originally set this on a traditional 10 gallon stand but realized the dimensions are not the same, so it will need either a solid surface like a table or possibly a custom stand for it. I am still deciding what I am going to do about a lid, and going with a custom glass lid is probably going to be the best option aesthetically. ... show more
