This was my almost 3 year old mane Christmas present, and he was absolutely elated. This is every little boy who loves tractors and construction vehicles dream!!! he spends hours on it. It’s also so wonderful for young children to get the experience of driving and using machinery. We live on a farm so you cannot start them young enough. After about three months of owning it, I had some trouble one morning after he had been riding it all day. It didn’t want to drive in forward and was only working in reverse. After reaching out to the company who went above and beyond to help me, but I am so mechanic illiterate, and my husband was out of town and we said we would wait till he got back, but they insisted on sending us another one in the meantime. Now in my books, that is amazing customer service. So when my husband got home, he opened up the inside of this, pictured in unplugged and plugged everything back in and it worked just fine so now we have two, and I must say I feel that this company really backs their product because they were willing to send whatever sort of mechanical support instructions we needed and then decided to just send us a new one since I couldn’t hack it💪🙌

This First ride on 12V excavator is really cute and little kids will love it for sure. It is fairly large overall but is sized for a younger child, like ages 3 or 4 and is too small for our 5 year old grandson in terms of leg room. The recommended age is 3+. It took two adults about 1 hour to assemble the excavator but all of the parts were present and the instructions were good and included pictures. They included the tools needed for assembly although we used a drill for inserting the screws. The parts all fit together as they were supposed to and overall, everything feels tight. The parts are plastic and will be durable with reasonable use and treatment. The bulldozer bucket and the backhoe parts are operated by hand only and are not motorized or remote controlled. When one tool is not in use, it can be pulled up and locked in place to keep it from dragging the ground. The seat locks in place but can be flipped around so either end tool can be used while facing it but the child will have to get out, unlock and flip the seat, and then get back in. There is a seat belt for safety. The remote control will move the excavator backward and forward and steer it left and right only. This is a good feature since the parent can control the excavator until the child gets used to the controls, which are located on the dashboard of the excavator. Although the battery area and dashboard controls are well covered and protected, we will store this excavator on a covered porch out of the weather. We charged the excavator up after assembly and the access panel for the battery is easy to get to and plug in. A small child will not be able to plug in and recharge the excavator without parental help. The charger will show a green light when fully charged but will also flash red light indicating that it is fully charged and needs to be unplugged from the electric socket. It is recommended that it not be overcharged or remain plugged in for extended periods of time. The speed seems good for a 3–4-year-old but the speed will depend on the surface and terrain of the land plus the weight of the child. Being an excavator, it will be operated mainly in dirt, sand, or grass rather than on a hard surface like a driveway or sidewalk. This excavator will definitely provide hours of fun for small children and the value is reasonable for the price.
