  • Fantastic balm for even sensitive lips.
My lips are always dry, and tend to be very sensitive to lip balms. Most of the top-rated items make them even more dry, even the extremely expensive ones. I was looking for a replacement for my previous go-to which was discontinued, and eventually decided to try this one and the clinique moisture surge balm. The moisture surge balm is almost the exact same formula as the one they discontinued, but seems even gentler on my lips so I was actually really happy with that. However, it is unarguably a heavy balm, largely meant for overnight use. So, I found that this balm still had a place in my routine. That worked out well, because it's fantastic. It's my new go-to daytime balm, and it has really helped improve my dryness and eliminate peeling. It has a nice, light vanilla-mint scent, but none of the horrible dryness or tingling that comes from mint-containing balms. It goes on smooth and light, and lasts a long time. It is not waxy or sticky, nor does it leave my lips feeling filmy or gunked up. It is VERY thick, though, so at a cool room temperature, it takes quite a bit of pressure to squeeze out enough for an application, and then it tends to continue to ooze product for a minute or two after. This isn't too problematic for me, but could be troublesome for others. Overall, it's a really great product that is not overhyped. ... show more

  • Great product
I thought it was overpriced but I took a chance. Really needed to cure my winter dry lips I suffer from yearly. This balm doesn’t leave my lips more chapped afterwards like some balms/chapsticks. I use it at night as a lip treatment and in the morning my lips are soft even after wiping off any leftover. Only thing to note is that it is very thick and can be hard to push out product. Mint scented, no real flavor. ... show more

  • Great for sensitive lips/skin!
Been using this for years on my kids’ lips. Both get chapped easy even in summer. This is smooth, soothing, absorbs well and has no waxy residue like other “Chap”-esque tubs and tubes. Both kiddos have sensitive skin/eczema and this isn’t irritating. Takes very little-between twin 4 year olds, one tube lasts about two winter months. The flavor and smell are different-not fruity, not bad or chemical. Seems typical of colloidal oat and Shea ingredients. No leftover tingle either, as it contains no mints or menthol type oils. My kids abhor stuff that tingles (rolls eyes), while I love it. Anyhoo, worth the price imho. ... show more

  • Good moisturizer for chapped or dry lips
Good product, however, for me, I had to keep reapplying during the day. There is no flavor to the one I purchased so can't comment on that. There is also no scent. Moisturized my lips but didn't like that I had to keep reapplying 4/5 times throughout the day (that does not include after eating lunch at work). However, it is a good product. I am using something different at the moment that has more staying power, but I would recommend this product. ... show more

  • So moisturizing!
I suffer from chronically dry lips. They are probably worse than the average person since I've done chemo. I am constantly on the hunt for the best lip treatment product for my poor dry lips. This was very nice. It comes out as a thick gel and it spreads well on my lips. It's very moisturizing and soothing. It has a very light mint scent and none of that awful taste some lip products have. I have arthritis in my hands, and as such, find it a little difficult to squeeze it out, but it's still doable. I highly recommend this lip treatment. ... show more

  • Warning It isn’t a lip balm
FIRST AID BEAUTY ULTRA REPAIR LIP THERAPY is often confused with a lip balm, but it isn’t a wax or petroleum product. It instead treats the lips with a long list of ingredients that are hypoallergenic and safe for sensitive skin. So when buying don’t expect a product that feels like a lip balm or acts like a lip balm when used. The feel: slick to the lips when first used (not a greasy feeling). It does not have a gritty feel, but more of a wet pasty feeling. The oily or wet feeling goes away in 10 minutes and you can still feel the product on your lips, but not as a protectant like a lip balm (a waxy feeling, like chapstick) more of a residue feeling. Effectiveness: if used a few times a day it can effectively treat chapped lips. Lips chapped from excessive licking or weather may be treated better with a waxy balm, because the wax will protect and prevent further damage, but lips chapped from sunburn or temporary damage can be effectively treated by this product. Best use for this product is to help treat already damaged lips from acute exposure or to maintain healthy lips. This product will not protect you from further lip damage like a petroleum or wax based product. Pros: hypoallergenic ingredients that nourish the lips and heal the lips with vitamins and natural moisturizers. Cons: does not shield lips like a wax or petroleum product will. You need a number of consistent applications for it to be effective. Overall: I don’t like the way this product feels on my lips. I use it once and in ten minutes my lips don’t feel instantly better. Products made with petroleum or wax coat my lips and give more immediate relief. ... show more

  • New Favorite
This has quickly become my favorite lip balm and I've tried many of the most popular ones. What I like most about this one is that it has a thicker texture so it stays on well for a long time without being sticky. It is also not extremely glossy so I can put it on my lips without looking in the mirror. It's a basic lip balm that just works. It has a slightly pepperminty scent but not too strong. ... show more
