  • WOW
Color: BlueBerry
This guitar exceeds expectations with its flawless finish, comfortable neck, and great sound. It plays well, though the action may need slight adjustment. The tuners feel solid, and it sounds amazing through a Marshall amp. Despite a less-than-ideal input jack placement, it's a fantastic deal and highly recommended. if you are on the fence, GET ONE!!!!!!! overall feel: 4.5/5 frets: 4/5 paint: 4.5/5 sound: 4.5/5 ... show more

  • Added roller bridge and locking tuners. Because i want them not need them. I love thus v.
Color: BlueBerry
Sounds plays and looks awesome. Now i need the brown. Couldnt be happyer with this buy! Added after 3 months. I still love it! Add locking tuners roller bridge and a real bone nut. Pretty sure the stock was plastic now tuning is perfect it plays even better and the pups sound pretty dam good! So for still less than $300 i have an awesome v. This rips out anything from sabbath to slayer and floyd on a clean channel sounds so sweet it makes my teeth hurt! Ive been playing on and off for 40 years so i know a little bit about a good jammin axe and for the price you can not go wrong. A novice might need help from a local shop for a set up but mine was ready to shred right out of box. Why not spend a bit more for a super distortion pickup. It deserves a dimarzio. It is that good. Ill have this v till im dead and maybe take it to hell with me if i can. Im sure satin is a metal head too. R. I. P. ME AND MY FIREFLY V.! ... show more

  • My first Flying V style guitar
Color: BlueBerry
Just got about an hour ago, been playing the heck out of it. Other than needing the nut string slots cut a little deeper, it’s flawless. It could benefit from lemon oiled fingerboard, it’s very dry, and better Strings. The pickups have no hum or noise, are not microphonic, and sound fine albeit slight muddy. The tuners work fine. No shipping damage (single styrofoam lined cardboard box). This version of firefly v does not provide you with a pickguard for you to choose to install. That’s fine, as I wouldn’t anyway. I guess they change little details on batches or runs. I’ve watched a lot of online reviews of these and they change a little. This version has equal V and joins the neck at same fret both sides. Earlier versions had one v longer and offset heel at neck joint. This version has both pickup volume controls up front, and master tone control at rear after pickup selector 3 way toggle (which works fine). All potentiometers respond appropriately and smoothly. Bridge and stop tailpiece not making any noise and seem fine. Inlay and fret work and overall fit and finish is perfect. Plastic backcover for electronics fits well, plastic truss rod cover fits well and looks nice with word classic written on it in white. Weight, balance, playability (other than needing nut adjustment) just fine. I’ve got several firefly brand guitars and they’re well worth the money. ... show more

Amazing guitar! FireFly’s are the best bang for your buck! Finish is amazing and it pops out at you! The pickups sound like Super Distortion pickups! Playability is tremendous! Can’t go wrong with Stainless Steel frets!

  • I like it!
Color: BlueBerry
This is my first Firefly brand guitar and my first V. I had heard great things about the company, and it seems that they sell out of offerings rather quickly. I had wanted a V-shape for a while strictly for the novelty of it, but I did not want to spend much in case the shape did not work out for me. So, I took a chance on this, and I have to say that I am not disappointed. Fit and finish is great, electronics are great, fretwork is superb, neck is straight, and intonation was perfect all right out of the box and all that for a price that is just fantastic. I have a home studio, so I do not "gig" with it. I have several amps that I play through, and I am pleased with the tones I get from it. The pickups are on the slightly warm side giving it more of a classic rock vibe. It does fine running through a rectifier amp, but I have a few guitars that do that much better anyway. Time will tell how well it will hold up. If I knew any beginner guitarists, I would definitely encourage them to check this brand out. I have played guitar for 33 years, and I can say from experience that you get a lot of guitar for comparatively little money with this. Far better that what I stared with for sure. ... show more

  • Win some lose some
Color: BlueBerry
I’ve had a few Firefly Guitars. In fact I have the Smoke version of this same FFLV and it was excellent right out of the box. Not much to adjust and I love it BUT unfortunately for my Blueberry Burst things didn’t go as well. I had to send it back. Right away I noticed a terrible buzz. The neck was way off and there were some high frets. The finish on the body was not quite what I am used to from Firefly as I have three and an FFSP Red/Silver/Blue Sparkle on the way. Can..not…wait! The finishes have been outstanding thus far. There were some bad blemishes on each side of the neck. The covers on the back were scratched up real bad. I start to wonder if maybe I had received a returned product because I’ve had some great luck with FF guitars. With that being said, I wouldn’t hesitate on buying another guitar from Firefly. In fact I have already from Guitar Gardens and am now eyeing the Blueberry Burst Explorer. I just might grab one. Sometimes these things happen even with your high end builders. I love my Firefly guitars. Not sure what happened this time around. Win some lose some I guess. ... show more
