I used it under my fire pit to prevent the grass beneath from catching fire. It worked for two burns and the material began to fall apart. I might get one more use before I have no choice but to toss it away. 3 stars because it did its job, however it did not hold up well.

My fire pit can get a bit hot and I don't want to worry about needing to move a hot fire pit because it's about to melt my table or leave a mark. So, I got this mat. It's inexpensive for what it does, is easy to carry (rolls or folds) and does a great job protecting surfaces of many kinds. For me this is an integral part of my fire pit system. I'm also thinking it would be good for picnics - just set that hot dish on the mat and call it good.
