I love the vivid colors, but like many other reviewers, I noticed that some pens arrived dried out. Pro Tip: These pens are water based. If you have a dry one, dip the tip in water for a second or two then gently draw in circles on a piece of paper until you start seeing the color. Repeat if necessary. I bought these for note taking and studying purposes. They are much easier to write with than Papermate’s Flair felt tip pens; when I write with these it feels like they just easily glide on the paper whereas Papermate’s pens seem to drag and aren’t as easy to write with. The packaging I received was wrapped in a rubberband and was very loose like it had been used. One of the tips of one of the pens was split in two. I had high expectations for these pens as I absolutely love their boss highlighters. These pens I felt weren't as good as my Staedtler 65 count pens. These pens for me didn't have a large color variety compared to my Staedtler pens. The caps for me were hard to open. As a student, that is very important to me as I take notes in lectures daily and recap my pens when I'm not actively writing with them to ensure I don't dry them out. ... show more

I have a friend that had a pack of 10 or so of these fine liners and he let me borrow one and it was amazing so I bought the full set and I use them every time I take notes and are a MUST HAVE while studying. As they are water based, they do not highlight well but if you highlight first then write, they smudge LESS but there is still smudging. ... show more
