This is my first magnet fishing kit that I purchased, I've used my magnet a few times now and it works well for very light things like fishing lures and nails/screws. The magnet isn't very stong like it says it is. It couldn't even hold a 35 pound kettle bell but it could hold a 10 pound kettle bell. The magnet overall isn't that good but it works, it's chiping off the coating and rusting already. The gloves seem pretty good, maybe a bit low quality. The rope is good, very thick cord and it works well. The carabiners that came with it are ok but they seem like low quality. Overall review for this kit, I give it 3 stars. Good for a beginner but don't expect much on getting heavy things with the magnet.

So I took my 3 kids (they are teenagers to clarify) down to the river to do some magnet fishing. I had purchased two of these kits. On the first throw.. my eldest son didn’t realize that he forgot to secure the line (while my back was turned and helping my youngest son) and we lost the first magnet. On the first cast! Okay..deep breath.. not a problem, boys have to share now. After 30 minutes we move to another spot. 15 minutes there and the other magnet had unscrewed from the snap/line. So we lost both magnets within an hour of each other. We had a good laugh, all in all it was a good day. The kits were great with all the different accessories.
