My kids and I live in a basement condo with awful storage. It's really hard to get furniture down here, so I was looking for lightweight options for organizing shoes, as well as our closets. I got something similar to this that was wider to put in one of my son's closets, but it was too wide to squeeze in the spot I had left in the closet under the stairs. When I found this similar option for less than 20 bucks, I bought two! I put one in our under stair closet for shoes and one in my second son's closet for clothes. They work great! Great for small spaces, plenty sturdy for holding things like shoes or clothes, fits in tight spaces, and easy to use and move around even in my small condo with all the corners. This does come in a surprisingly small box with A LOT of pieces. It has picture instructions. I found it easy to put together, once you get the pattern of building the shelf. Then you just do that over again until you have all the shelves and then connect the shelves with the remaining poles. I always closely check dimensions so I know if it will fit in my space and these were exactly what I was expecting. Very happy with them! ... show more

It was easy took me about 45 mins to assemble. There are clear instructions. Alot of poles but it's simple to know which are which for there purpose. The poles are hard to push in! That's only thing I'd complain about but it does make them stay in place so I guess that could be the reason there so tight fitted lol no tools required, just your hands and strength to push and fit the poles together. The shelves are like a firm soft material. The shoe stand itself is a little over 5 feet tall I'm 5'2 and it's exact my height. I'd say overall worth buying I actually love it. It made my husband pile of shoes look organized now : D also great for small spaces! Can be used for different reasons other then shoes as well. My adult cat also likes to sneak and sleep on the bottom shelf haha if you see him in the pictures on bottom. It's sturdy enough that it stays In place and won't fall over! We luv this shoe rack, it seems sturdy enough and it holds a lot of shoes for us. We have it inside a room we use as an office and it’s right around the corner from our front door so this rack solves the issue of shoes all over the floor by the front door. Believe me, that right there makes me happy! Hubs can easily fit two pair of his size 11 mids and hiking boots per shelf. There’s a pair or two for me on there as well. Assembly was pretty easy. The box is chock full of parts when you open it and initially it can look overwhelming but it’s not. I assembled it myself while hubby was watching a game and it took like 40 minutes maybe, but I wasn’t hurrying. Took my time and carefully inserted all the pieces without being a brute about it and it was just fine. Will definitely be ordering another probably for upstairs.     • At $20 this is a good shoe rack. Will take awhile to assemble.
You get a box of very thing metal pipes, connectors, and fabric that makes up the shelves. It is easy to assemble, just time consuming and repetitive. Once you are a few shelves in the weight has increased and the structure of the unit is more solid. For $20 it wasn't a bad deal and has quite a bit of storage room. I wouldn't pay more than that though. I can understand why it is on sale. Ironically around the 4th shelf or so I got distracted by how good of a drum set it makes. I was holding two of the longest metal pipes and started drumming on the taught fabric shelves and side supports. I probably lost a good ten minutes that way. Beware such pitfalls on your way to completion. It is still very light when put together. Throw some steel toed boots on the lowest shelf...that should help. It would be handy for organizing a lot more than shoes too. Get some removable plastic trays or storage boxes from the Dollar store and it would serve as a handy craft organizer. ... show more

This item is the first item I'm ever leaving an Amazon review for. Extremely easy to build, great sturdiness for the price, and holds at least 16 pairs of shoes easily. Narrow enough to fit in a small space and is compact but strong and spacious. Great purchase and highly recommend. Finally happy that my husband's shoes won't be scattered around our master bedroom anymore lol ... show more

    • Lightweight but sturdy, enough to keep stilettos upright
Lightweight but solid rack, as others have stated the box just contains all pieces; personally I sorted them before starting to make the process smoother. As it stands (read: shelf is new) all the shoes I've put on it are stable and upright, including my stilettos, time will tell if the shelves will start sagging at some point and make my stillettos fall over. My husband wears 9-9.5 size shoes, and for his size you can still comfortably put two pairs of shoes next to each other. I purchased the rack to go into my coat closet, but it does look nice enough to leave out, IMO. A rubber mallet will be useful, especially if you have a weaker grip or general strength. Make sure rods are in the connectors fully to ensure stability. You have some leeway on exactly what order you want to build it in, but here's my suggestion: [for each shelf] slot all the long rods into the shelf sleeves; . place connectors on the ends of medium rods, look for the top hole for guidance on which spoke to use add long rods+shelf to connectors on medium rod add 2nd medium rod to other end of long rods [for putting your tiers together] for your tiers, you'll want to fully build out the shelf being added first, then place 4 short rods on the below shelf connector's top holes, and finally put the new shelf over the 4 short rods. ... show more

So I like this shelf but there are a couple of drawbacks. It takes forever and the connector pieces break easily during assembly. And the cover really doesn't hold tight to the frame so dust and whatever is still getting in there. But that being said I like the size and that it can hold taller heals and my high tops. ... show more
