These should do the job quite nicely. The deer got most of our raised beds and container garden last year. I was looking for a less obtrusive and cheaper solution to keep them out other than construct an entire fence system with lumber and hardware cloth. So I figured an electric fence should do nicely. I will only need to turn it on in the evening and I can turn it off in the morning. These are nice fiberglass poles 50” in length which should be sufficient. It is spiked on the end with a step towards the bottom for pressuring it into the ground. There are six wire holders five of which you can adjust up and down the post. They slide easy enough but not so easy that they should not slide on their own. The poles themselves are yellow in color making them easily visible. They are quite stiff as well. It’s going to be close to 90 days before we get the beds and containers going so it’s going to be sometime before I actually get the chance to put these to work. I see no reason why these should not perform as expected but I will report back if I run into an issue with these electric fence posts. At $5 per post and 10 to a package these come in at a very good value! ... show more

These fence posts are exactly what we needed. We needed additional posts to work with our electric webbed fencing. These work seamlessly with our existing fencing. They are a durable plastic material. They do not ground out the fencing. The posts need not be adjusted to attach our electric fencing. The posts already have hooks integrated. We do not need any extra hooks. These posts have an easy place to step them into the earth and do not require any kind of mallet. I also use them to anchor corners and help keep our fencing from sagging. I wonder how the plastic clips will hold up in the weather but for now, I am happy. ... show more

These seem to be decent posts. The step in feature only works half the time with my soil, so I carry a cordless drill with a long masonry bit to drill a small starter hole in the more rocky soil. They don't drive in with a hammer very well so don't bother with that. In soft loamy soil they would step in easily. They seem to have a reasonable flex to them if that is a consideration. Back to the setting of the post, if your soil is soft, the short tip for the ground may be an issue. I do wish the tip was longer for better stability, but they are designed as a temporary fence so easy in easy out. Just take that into consideration. ... show more

These are sturdy fiberglass fence posts. I like the bright yellow color since it helps me see them in the snow. I plan to use them for the electric fence, that's what they're designed for. Those extra 10 posts help to put up a more stable fence. Good for my chicken.

    • Good for electric fence support in the right soil

We install a lot of electric fencing in our business and often use the net fencing for temporary setups. The biggest issue with the net fencing is it always sags no matter how tight you try to pull it. This is largely due to the length between the integrated posts, and also often the soil the posts are set into. These posts work well as added support, or to create a corner before the next integrated post is available. I love that the clips are adjustable, and they work well as supplemental support, but the metal spike is too long for our soil (very dry and rocky) making it difficult to get very far into the ground. Plus the plastic step is quite weak, and I expect those to break off in the near future. In loamy or grassy soil, these would be perfect. ... show more

These are your standard fiberglass fence posts. I like the bright yellow color since it helps me see them in the snow. I don't plan to use them for electric fence, but that's what they're designed for. I use these posts to mark my garden rows, hold up strings of Christmas lights, or show the edges of my driveway in the snow.
