Description

From the Manufacturer Festool saw blades are engineered and designed for cutting efficiency, long-life, and superior cutting results. The carbide tipped Standard Ripping blade for the TS 55 Plunge Cut Saw is an excellent general purpose, clean-cutting blade for wood and soft plastics, and enables precision cutting for glue-ready joints. This blade incorporates an offset tooth design known as ATB (Alternating Top Bevel), allowing the blade to cut alternately to the left and right, generating a more efficient and cleaner cut in all types of wood. This thin-kerfed blade design meets less resistance, for more efficient cutting, and produces less material waste. Laser cut expansion slots reduce vibration for faster, quieter cutting. An oversized 20mm arbor enables more secure fastening of the blade to the saw, further reducing vibration for more precise cutting.

  • You pay for quality
There is no question but that Festool products are expensive. There is also no question, at least in my mind, that with Festool you get what you pay for. I do a lot of work with treated lumber that is often still wet with preservative and undried (though, it is supposed to be dry before sold). Treated wood in that condition is brutal on saw blades, especially when a lot of ripping is involved. I ordered the Festool ripping blade because the old Festool blade I was using was heating up and smoking after even relatively short rips. This isn't surprising since my blade was probably five years old. The new Festool ripping blade cuts like a dream and with complete ease, even when ripping treated 2x4s and 2x6s. It remains to be seen how long this level of performance will last, but if it lasts anything like my previous Festool ripping blade, I will have absolutely no complaints. Highly recommended. ... show more

  • Replacement blade
Blade cut fine. Did not look like it was unused.

  • Speedy
Rips extremely well but leaves a very rough finish. May not use it as much as I thought I would. Will work well for rough lumber but may stick to a higher tooth count for breaking down sheet goods

  • Amazing, fast, clean deep cuts
Was using the 48tooth stock blade for ripping and it was cutting like a wet blanket. Switched to the 12 tooth blade and it's like a new saw. ripped through 2" cedar, 1.5" pine, and 2" poplar with ease. I cross cut on my chop saw and the festy is mostly for ripping and plywood work now. a must have.

  • Seems to be good quality. Works fine for shortening a door
It fits. It cuts. Seems to be good quality. Works fine for shortening a door, etc. maybe not quite as smooth of a finish as the 36 tooth blade. Note that the picture for this item is not the item...there are way more than 12 teeth on the blade shown. Like all festool products, it does a good job, but is expensive as $*%# ... show more

  • This blade has a 2.2mm kerf not 2.5 !
FYI, this saw blade model has a 2.2 mm kerf and not 2.5 mm as listed on Amazon, per Festool USA. I tried to update the info on Amazon but they refuse because they are looking at incorrect info on the Festool site. This has already been verified verbally by Festool and they are also aware that their site needs updating. ... show more
