  • Solid guide for TS55 kind of works for HKC...
I think it's a well made guide, it is sturdy, with a good fit and finish, and sure beats most any "guide" I've seen for a circular saw. I also like that it can be turned around, for the edge or above the edge, handy to me. It slides right on the saw very easily. The included hardware tights it down nice and tight. If it matters to any one, I have the TSC 55 KEBI-F-Plus-FS saw. I knew it would take a slight process to get it parallel, any one can see that just by looking at it and seeing how it works. So why so many complaining about that AFTER they bought it? Why did they buy it then? Also, so many complaining about it, but not one person has suggested a solution? I would think, it Festool could put some kind of scale on it, or even tick marks on the bars, that would be very useful. I do agree, it is a little pricey, but of course I knew that before I bought it. I also know Festool is pricey. Just funny, so many complaining about the price, but they have probably bought many things Festool, so they know it costs. And you know the price before you click the buy button. Don't like the price, why did you buy it? I bought this hoping I could use it on my HKC, because it's my favorite saw and I use it so much more than my track saw. I usually use the sliding guide rails, but sometimes it would be helpful to have a guide. Well, this does sort of fit on the HKC. First off, it's a tighter fit, it does not slide as easily and as freely as it does on the track saw, but it does fit. The only other issue, while it has the bolt recess for the hold down hardware, one of those recesses, is not in the bottom plate, but it is at a right angle to the base. Weird, but it is what it is. But... the metal piece with the turned down edges do not fit in the opening for it. the opening is about 1/8" to small. Still kind of works, but does not fit "in" or lock into the slot. I will probably just grind down the one piece, little off each side till it fits. Just odd, they seemed to make the saw so it accepts this guide, but not 100%. And I have not seen a guide like this just for the HKC, or it's not something you can get in the US? Either way I am happy it fits the carpenters saw, just have to see how it works. Overall, I really like this. I knew the price and how it worked, so I don't have any complaints. Would recommend. ... show more

  • Also its good on plywood for quick repeat cuts
I use guide edge for ripping down on 2x6, 2x8. Also its good on plywood for quick repeat cuts. Only downside is the guide bar should be wider for more stable tracking.

  • Not super great.
I wanted to rip some strips off sheets of plywood that were longer than I could do on my MFT. So I bought this, thinking that I could establish a straight edge with a guide rail, then use this parallel edge guide to follow that edge. It doesn't work that great though, it's hard to get the guide parallel to the saw blade, so you end up with something that pinches the wood against the blade, causing burning, and you don't get an edge as parallel as I would like. It is also very difficult to get an exact width with this guide. In the end, a better way to do it if you have the guide rail anyway is to establish your initial edge, then align the guide rail to the edge using a length reference, like an adjustable square. Get the rail the correct distance on one end, then use the length reference to get the other end of the rail to the correct distance. You have to go back and forth a few times, unless you have two length references which would make super easy. Doing it this way you get the exact width you want and it is more parallel too. The downside is that it takes longer. It would be much easier to do it on a table saw, if you were able to manipulate the sheet good, that is. ... show more

  • It does what is says
It works but can be really finicky to set up to keep the saw from binding
