The low profile allows the clamps to be below standard 1x (3/4" x ...) lumber, so your sander can get to the task at hand without fighting the clamp system. Useful! These things just save me a lot of time. They don't require an white knuckle effort to hold wood firmly and make so many sanding jobs simple. I do feel like they are overpriced, but it's possible that I don't understand the complexities of their manufacture.if they weren't so regularly useful and easy to use, I'd reduce my rating. ... show more

Yes, the price tag is a little crazy for like all Festool products you get what you pay for. These clamps are extremely easy to use and take mere seconds to apply clamping pressure. These are ok for low profile clamping where material 3/4” or thicker needs worked. The hold down knobs thread underneath the table surface to keep the material from lifting from the lateral clamping force.

Exactly as others have commented-wicked cool etc., seems excessively priced. Also note that these may not be durable enough to push things together (like clamping/holding force), they're more designed to hold things on the work surface. I made the mistake of using mine to forcefully hold an assembly together and they're not as smooth as they used to be now. ... show more
