Update to my original purchase. When I got the 16” blue dinosaur bookbag it was purple. I posted a 1 star review. The company reached out to me over my concern. They sent me the 17” blue dinosaur bookbag. It’s very blue. Now I want to give the whole experience a review. First of all, customer service went above and beyond to address my concern and right all the wrongs. They gave me excellent service. Secondly, the 17” bookbag is absolutely perfect for a first grader. The zipper glides smoothly. The bag is big enough to carry everything including an extra pair of clothes but small enough not to be so bulky. It’s perfect. I highly recommend any of their book bags just be aware the 16” is more purple than blue. Otherwise I would’ve kept it.

This is a basic backpack. It is nothing fancy. It is cute for kids and should be fine to carry toys and lightweight items, but I could see a problem if it is used to carry very many heavy books. A few books would be fine, but anything more might cause seams to rip over time. It is small anyway so children’s books would fit and are usually light weight.

The backpack was beautiful, but did not hold up. Previously, we had the same Jansport backpack that lasted us for several years. It is still in good shape, we just needed a larger bag with the side pockets for water. We managed to eek out the school year with it, but it was in complete tatters at the end of the year. The whole reason we bought a new backpack was for the water bottle holder and the mesh ripped a few months in. I ended up sewing a pocket around the meshing to keep the bottle from falling through. All the seams at the top of the backpack were also torn and pulling apart. We threw it away on the last day of school.
