Description

The names of few rock bassists have become more synonymous with fretless bass than that of session great Tony Franklin. Like the man who designed it, the Tony Franklin Fretless Precision Bass® guitar takes a classic instrument to a new level, with an alder body and modern C-shaped maple neck with an unfinished and unfretted ebony fingerboard with side dot position markers. Other features include vintage tuners, Hipshot® Bass Xtender drop-D tuner on the E string, and three-way pickguard switch that controls an American Series Precision Bass neck pickup and a Tony Franklin signature Jazz Bass® bridge pickup with hex-screw lugs and ceramic bar magnets.

Color: black
Best feeling bass ever! Im sort of new to fretless but this bass kicks butt! I own about 10 other fender basses and while the look and feel of this are spectacular, the sound from these particular set of pick ups is phenomenal. Some folks will warn you off of fretless basses without the fret lines, but im really glad i didnt listen to that advice. With a little practice you can find your way around this neck pretty quickly. If you are looking for a bass that stands out in a crowd, AND sound fantastic...this is the one! ... show more

Great bass. I had aspired to one of these for a decade before I finally bucked up and got it. It's truly one of the nicest instruments I've played, and I like it more than my American Deluxe Fretless Jazz Bass.

  • Gift to an experienced bassist
Color: black
Purchased as a gift for my son. He loves it. The pickups are significantly more sensitive than his 80's jazz bass. Also said the tonal quality is exceptionally better as well. Very happy with it.

  • Exceptionally good bass, and price!
Color: 3 tone sunburst
Everything about this bass is excellent. The ebony fingerboard, the pickup switch, the tone options that all sound phenomenal! i could go on. Hands down my favorite bass I’ve ever owned and I've owned Many basses in this price range. Fender and Tony really nailed it! Rotosound ultra light rounds, Labelle deep talkin flats and nylon black strings all sound awesome. Rotos are my fave! Im honestly surprised at the low price of this bass. Especially if you get it used. It could easily cost double the asking price. ... show more
