  • great guitar, highly recommend!
This is my first electric guitar and I’m super impressed with the quality of it. The cable kept slipping out so I did have to unscrew a part of it and bend the jack but it was a quick fix.

  • Nice Guitar -- But Not What I Ordered
Style: Bundle w/ Amplifier Color: Surf Green
In the item photos, you can clearly see Affinity specs -- big 70s headstock with a gold letter logo and split shaft (very nice) tuners. The neck shows a skunk stripe, and a Squier neck plate. The bridge is a nice, upgraded 2-point tremolo. What was actually shipped is a Squier Debut in an apparently unreleased/unadvertised/maybe-limited color -- see photos (small headstock with outline logo), blank neck plate (cheaper), inexpensive 6-screw trem bridge, no skunk stripe, and a matte-finish body, rather than gloss. The photos and title are incorrect. BUT, I will say, the guitar looks good and feels good. It's set up pretty well, except for the intonation. The frets are well-polished, the neck is nice. I really like the satin/matte finish on the body. The guitar sounds good, tone-wise. It will need to be intonated, and I'll change the strings. The strings are pretty decent, but fresh strings for the intonation will be important. The gig bag is fine -- not worth the additional $30 to justify the price tag vs. the Debut Series (which this is). The amp is another story. It may be "OK" for young kids just starting out. It can be loud, but it doesn't sound very good, especially clean. I'd have preferred to get the guitar without the extras, because the extras are not good. It's very thin--both the amp build, and the audible tone. With a better amp, the guitar will shine, and it's better to learn on an amp that sounds good. I was expecting and hoping for the guitar in the pictures. I received a nice guitar, but I would have preferred to know what I was getting, and for the listing and pictures to be accurate. I also don't want this amp. ... show more

  • Great value
For my daughter who's a beginner. Seems to be doing the job....

  • It was okay, maintenance needed.
It was okay, but quality wise I was kinda disappointed. It came with a lot of maintenance I had to do, especially with the truss rod and intonation. I ended up changing the strings, conditioning the fretboard and tweaking the truss rod(which can go bad). It’s a good beginner guitar and if you wanna do the maintenance it can give you some skills you’d need going forward in guitar. Anyways I’d say you should buy it. ... show more

  • sounds like a bad connection inside the guitar, a lot of static
Worked okay at first, now there appears to be a bad connection inside the guitar, a lot of static.
