My daughter is a beginner and she is really enjoying it, we are using it without an amp for now as she learns. The only reason I'm not reviewing it more favorably is she and I are both really disappointed in the actual color of it. It is in no way any shade of red, it is orange.     • Perfect for a Total Noob like me
I recently decided I wanted to learn electric guitar as something to do during the pandemic. I have almost no musical experience other than a few years of forced piano as a pre-teen. I have been thrilled and find myself actually wanting to practice on this guitar! The weight is about perfect and even though these are new strings, it mostly holds its tune. The electronic tuner is really helpful for a noob like me as well. I also bought a small Fender amp (you need it) so can now start learning how to rock and totally embarrass my daughter! ... show more

This is an absolutely great guitar, feels and sounds better than it should for the price. Pretty good out the box, especially for a beginner but a set up would make this an outstanding instrument. I purchased this as a bundle from Austin Bazaar and for the extra $20 I got a nice Fender strap, a tuner, a gig bag, picks and a instructional dvd, great value ... show more

Great guitar for beginners. It's comfortable for folks with smaller hands, and it holds a tune well. It comes set up. The included tuner is a solid bonus. You do need to order an amplifier and cord separately. Anyway, this is a solid guitar with good sound at a great price point. If you're not sure you'll be serious about playing, you're not out a ton of cash. And if you're serious, this guitar is great for learning before you invest in something higher-end. ... show more

This is a great guitar for the money. The frets aren’t too sharp and are easy on fingers. The strings stay in pretty good tune, Only needing minor tuning before you play. The strings that came with mine had a good overall quality from what I could tell. If you’re expecting this to play like a $2000 Fender, Stratocaster, you might want to invest some more money into a better guitar. However, if you want to get into guitar, this is not a bad option as it gives you a good platform to learn, as well as not breaking the bank. ... show more

    • Great package and an excellent value!
This is simply a great deal and I'm quite pleased with it. Austin Bazaar shipped the guitar and accessory package promptly.... that was two separate packages from two different locations, but both arrived "on time" and undamaged. Before I received the packages I exchanged a couple of EMAILs with Austin Bazaar. Their replies were prompt and courteous (and accurate). I'm quite familiar with Fender products, so I knew what to expect with regards to the actual guitar. What surprised me was the quality of the accessory package. I was expecting mostly "throw away" trinket stuff. That's not the case. The "gig-case" is sturdy, padded and nicely made with multiple zippered pockets. The stand is far better than what I expected, and does the job quite nicely (padded neck holder, security strap, etc..). The amp is surprisingly loud and has a nice compliment of functional tone/gain/volume pots that allow you to get anywhere from "fairly clean" to "crappily distorted". The capo is metal, solid, and works well. The rest of the package.. picks, tuner, DVD, strap, winder...... all good, solid mid-range equipment. So I'm pleasantly surprised. I thought I was going to get a nice Fender Squire with a bunch of other stuff that I'd have to replace within the first few weeks. Turns out I got a nice complete package that should serve my young musician for some time to come. ... show more

    • Destroying Fenders reputation (do not buy)
I am very disappointed in this version of a fender guitar, and I believe this guitar specifically is doing Fender a disservice. From the instant that I tried to play this guitar I noticed that something was not right. it seems to me that the strings and the bridge are unworthy of a name brand, even at there low end product. this guitar might as well have been shipped straight from china if you get my drift. the bridge makes all kinds of noises to the point that playing the guitar is just frustrating and robs any joy of learning to play. Due to my disappointing first experience with this particular model I really don't think I will ever buy Fender again! So sad! ... show more
