My picky long-time guitarist friend could only find two faults with the guitar: It's heavier than he's used to and the strings seemed a tad high. He said no luthier tweaks are essential. It played great out of the box. He could not believe the price. While Strats and Les Pauls get much visibility, multiple guitarists have told me the Telecasters are the real electric guitar workhorses. While this model is great for beginners, it's quality & versatility ensure beneficial use for players throughout the spectrum of experience. If the rating system is for guitars only of this price range, 5 stars are merited. I selected 4 stars only because of the available options regardless of price, since top-notch professional guitars exist that objectively warrant a higher rating than this model. While the particular bundle is handy if you already have an amp, I suggest starters also get a guitar stand for storage, capo, and more picks. Keep in mind that, after a 1 week trial period, Fender Play for lessons is an additional purchase. There are quite a few free tutorial options on YouTube.
