I got tired of my last guitar cable getting hung up and tangled on everything in my studio, so I figured I'd give this one a try. I've always found the coiled fender cables to be pretty cool looking and since I need a new one I figured why not. First thing I noticed is this one doesn't get caught up on stuff like my pedal board, mix stand, other cables and my feet. Second thing I noticed was how overbuilt this cable is. Nice color... kind of a deep red. Looks kinda like a fluorescent red, but I don't think it glows, but it perfect. Fender, as always, makes quality cords thatlast. I wrote my name on it 1st thing. This cable has both ends straight with a 1/4" connector. This is perfect for guitars with angled plugs, which Fender has done to mininize stress on cables and plugs (male and female.) *Note: not all guitars have angled plugs. Those that have plugs at a 90° angle from the guitar face you'll want to get a 90° angled cord, instead of this one. Fender makes these, too, and they're available here on Amazon. I love the color! It looks better in person!!! I'll prolly keep this one for playing gigs, as I imagine it'll pickup dirt like every other cable I've owned, to keep it nice for shows, and use black ones for every day. I've always wanted a coiled cable but never bought one, not really sure but I guess because it was out of my comfort zone? I've always just used regular cables but this one was on sale and I said what the heck. It's an awesome cable and I love it so much. It's got some weight to it but it doesn't sit on the floor and I don't step on it like other cables. It's constructed pretty well and have no problems with it. ... show more

I have used this cable at gigs and in the studio for over a year. No issues. Its real heavy, well made. Beware ... because the cable is heavy it will lift footpedals off the floor unless they are secure on a pedalboard. Its so cool looking. Everyone comments about it.

If you're planning to gig, I really recommend spending the money on a serious, durable cable. A nice coiled one like this is also fantastic for avoiding the cable being ripped from your pedalboard or amp by mistake (which has happened to me). I love how vibrantly red this Fender one is too, it makes a statement, and makes identifying easier. My only warning is this cable is surprisingly heavy, which I think is great, but that may be annoying to some. ... show more

Great quality cable. Looks and sounds great. One surprise is how large the coils are. I have other coiled cables, which are all fairly similar. This one is significantly thicker. Pros of that is I'm sure it's durable. Cons is it's a bit hefty. Noticeably more that a typical straight cable, and even more than other coiled cables I've used. I got this mainly for studio/rehearsal used, where I'm sure it will be fine. But, I might find it a bit cumbersome for live use. Others may like the weightlessness of it.
