The PROPULSION TRUSSTIC technology in the shoe's outsole mirrors the foot's ligaments, creating a powerful lever to propel your stride. GEL technology in the rearfoot also adds cushioning to reduce the severity of shock upon impact. A specialized panel on the inside of the shoe helps provides a great overall fit, whiel the new contoured sockliner mirrors the natural shape of the foot to promote greater comfort. I love these shoes! Great ankle stability despite being a low rise. Wide toe box is FANTASTIC! Only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because they make a squeaking sound no matter what surface I walk on. But otherwise, perfect.

    • Lightweight and just what my son wanted
I bought these for my son as his back-to-school shoes. He loved the gold foil against the black and the tortoise and hare details on the heels. He has flat feet and sensitivities to how far up his heel shoes go, but he has expressed how comfortable they are. I did need to buy him a whole size larger than what was indicated by the measurements in the size chart, but that's a common occurrence with Asics.     • Large Toe Box + Light Shoe
I have run in many versions of the DS Trainer shoes. I love the fit on my foot -- it is like a traditional running shoe with the larger toe box of other brands. I would like to have a version with lower heel lift. I would like to see a 4 mm lift on the shoe instead of the 8 mm lift advertised as I would like this to be more in-line with an ultralight shoe. I also got about 350 miles out of the DS trainer 24s. I hope this will last longer -- but don't expect it to as it is a lightly built shoe. ... show more

    • No longer have shin-splints!
I am an avid runner - 6-11 miles 5x/week. I have been switching between Merrell Trailglove 5 and just an older pair of Nike Metcons (500 miles) - recently shin splits started, which prompted me on getting a new pair of daily runners. I run a mix of asphalt and unpaved trails, lots of uphill sprints, and here is my rating (1 = poor and 5 = great). Asphalt and pavement running and flat sprints are a 5. Unpaved trails are a 4 - the minimal tread is to blame, although the amount of cushion is perfect for trails. Uphill sprints are a 3 - I strive for a true connection with the ground - slight inclines (up to 10 degrees) are okay with a rating of 4. True inclines (anything greater than 10 degrees - my favorite training spot goes from 15 to 10 to 20 degrees for a 1/5mile length) is a 2 - I find it challenging to really run on the front of my foot due to the padding. That being said about true inclines, I will continue to use these shoes for incline sprints because they are a perfect, multi-surface, multi-grade, everyday runner. ... show more

If You are usually wearing EU 45.5, I recomend to order US11.5, which will fit You great. The size chart is incorrect.
