I love this shelf! It holds a ton of my tools & craft supplies. It’s super strong & sturdy. It was easy to put together if you remember to count the rings for the heights of the shelves. I count from the bottom, where the poles connect, or the top, depending on what shelf I’m installing the brackets for. A year ago we bought one set of these shelves for growing our plant seedlings in the spring. They are wide enough so we can fit 2 10x20 plant trays on each shelf. They are sturdy, relatively light, attractive and we bought a set of LED plant lights to attach with zip ties to each shelf to light the plants below. Ok so, you know how when you find that "THING" that is going to be PERFECT and it ALMOST is??? That's this rack for me. As you may know from my other reviews, I live in a very small rental--a 1 bd single wide mobile home. I have 2 upper cabinets in the kitchen. Period. Two. This means I have zero cabinet space for storage. What I do have is 48" of airspace over this other base cabinet where my microwave and countertop oven reside (yes, I have a stove/oven, but I use this because 110 is cheaper than 220!), so I have been diligently searching for a shelf unit I could install over them and gain some storage. The base is 43" wide--not 48 or 36 or something NORMAL, nope, it's 43". The nuker is 19" wide, the oven is 21"...together, that's 40" I need to "span" plus a gap between the two for airspace. I found ONE 42" unit in all my searching---it was over $180, and it was out of stock. GRRRRR! So I wrote that off as an option and kept looking online pretty regularly for some way to get this space usable. Last week, I ran across these 22" wide units...! Eureka! But wait, I only have 43 inches available and 22+22 is 44. Now I've put plenty of these things together in former residences, and for family, etc., so I got the bright idea to buy 2, make the center poles do double duty (because I will not be storing heavy stuff on these--just pans & kitchen paper supplies, etc)! Today they arrived. I rushed home from work and began my redneck engineering project. Long story short--it worked...sort of. What I couldn't correct or anticipate from the pics online was that the 22" measurement is OUTSIDE measurement, when I had been hoping it was INSIDE, due to how the shelves are designed. I had to force it into place over the oven (nuker side was a breeze) and the back right and back center pole bottoms are now bowed out. Again, it works for my purposes, and it's WAY better than anything else I found, plus even 2 of these was nothing even close to the price of the 42-incher that must have been forged from gold bars. Check out the 3rd pic to see the bow-legged back right pole---it's not horrible, but if you're doing with it what I did, beware that you need to span only 21" or less to avoid this hiccup. These shelves were a great value, most of the big ones like this were significantly more expensive. I was afraid I was going to get some cheap junk that didn't hold much weight. They turned out to be quite sturdy and well packaged, and went together very easily. They will hold a fairly decent amount of weight, granted they are not the heaviest Duty out there, but they will hold quite a bit of common household weight ... show more
