This was relatively easy to assemble. (the first shelf took a little experimenting, but once I figured it out, the rest were very quick). Slightly difficult to install, the clip mechanism doesn’t really seem sturdy until all four poles are aligned. Aligning all 4 poles at the same height is the most difficult part of the install, but with determination it is definitely doable. I bought two of these a little over three months ago and I have to admit that I am impressed. While the assembly is a bit interesting and sometimes requires three hands, I'm pretty sure that isn't unique to this particular brand/model. I think they're all that way. As to the quality, I am very pleasantly surprised that they are as well built as they are, especially considering that they're one of the least expensive on Amazon. They hold a LOT of weight. Wow, light, easy to assemble and sturdy as heck! I had the big heavy metal frames, but then had to move and it really sucked to move them. These shelves are great - nearly as strong, but a fraction of the weight and easy to take apart or put together. I used without the wheels, but that would make it easier to move loaded. I wanted more stability. That said, I so miss a solid shelf so it may be hard to put small things that could fall between the wires on them, but you can lay down a thin piece of plywood or sheeting to fix that. I needed this for a bedroom to hold a TV, consoles, and to store a few larger items that were too bulky for what little closet space I have. This shelf is large and the measurements almost perfectly fit into my available wall space Assembly was about 30 minutes -- I could have done it myself, but it was easier having someone to help align and hold the shelves as I dropped them in place Aligning the shelves is as simple as clamping down with a plastic piece and sliding the shelf over it. Gravity and weight will squeeze the shelf to the support, keeping it from moving once in place. I used a rubber mallet to very gently tap everything into place It works best if you have a small piece of wood to spread the weight over the entire shelf surface. You can hold something like a TV or computer monitor on the shelf, but it is most stable with something under it. I recommend securing this to the wall because the shelf is very tall and could possibly be tipped over by a child that mistakes this for a jungle gym I appreciate the sturdiness, the solid metal, and having the extra storage space. In context, my house is laid out so badly that I remain convinced the people who built it could not have lived here for extended periods of time -- little usable closet space, terrible tiny cabinets, and a floor plan that wastes every inch of space it can.
