I purchased these to protect my arms against a new puppy's sharp nails, and so far they are doing a good job. As I've gotten older, my skin is thinning and I look like I lost a knife fight after the puppy greets me with happy jumping. The sleeves have absolutely saved me from innumerable new cuts and scrapes. They also work in the garden when trimming thorny bushes. They do make my arms a little warmer than bare skin, but seem to be cooler than wearing a long sleeved shirt. I would recommend these if you need the protection. They seem to be a little more sturdy than purely sun-protection sleeves, such as I have for bicycling.

When purchasing, I measured my arm, and I am right on the edge of two sizes, so I bought one of each, I ended up keeping the bigger size and giving my sister (miss petite) the smaller of the two. Each of us love them, stay up on the arm without cutting circulation. I am using it more of allergies than sun protection, love my tomatoes and so much more, but my skin does not. These have really helped with the itchy skin, so I don't have to go inside and soap up my arms periodically to keep the rashes down. I put these on when working around deep plants and voila! Have a second pair now so I can wash and hang dry each day and still have a dry pair for the next day if needed.

I am an avid gardener and with age my skin is getting thinner. I come inside with cuts and bruising. Since wearing these I can do gardening without any irritations to my arms. They are also very stylish and cute. The fit is excellent, they stay up on my arms just fine.

The arm covered is light, colors are vivid and it arrived as expected. However as a gardener my first time wearing it got caught on roses and bushes and it produced a tear on the arm cover.
