Don't buy! Within a few weeks, the handle broke in half. Looking at the cross sectional of where it snapped it seems that they have a flaw or something in their manufacturing that allows for air bubbles in the handle this creating a weak point.

Just received these knives and have not used them yet. However, would like to point out that the covers fit well for all but two of the knives. The cover for the purple chef knife is so tight that it has to be pushed in; the cover for the green santoku knife is so loose that it falls off. Hope the knives work well but the loss of safety for the santoku knife is very concerning.

This is funny. I accidentally ordered two sets of these farberware knives and did not really want to take the trouble to send one back. The price is so good. The price made me hesitate about the quality. But farberware has a good reputation and rhe knives looked like what I was looking for. Well I took the extra set to my daughters house to see if she would like them. She said sure I would like a new set and pulled one of the same knives out of a kitchen drawer. She said ouurs are six years old and I would like a new set. We have had theses since we have been married. Yes I would say this is agood product. Fast shipping too.

My husband I love knives. We have a vertical knife drawer that is the envy of all. We've spent a fortune over the years on beautiful, sharp knives. Guess what we use now? These cheap, ugly knives. I usually buy a new set every year and give the old set away. There's nothing wrong with the old set, they just need to be sharpened and my husband never gets around to it, so I just spend the money and get new ones ("Honey, you know I can sharpen these, why did you buy new ones? "Because you've been saying you needed to sharpen them for 3 months now and you will never do it." Then we go through the process of, "but I like this old one, and that old one". sigh. You know the drill. And no, I'm not going to gather up 10 knives, take them in the basement and try to figure out how to use the grinder or whatever he uses because quite frankly, it's a lot easier and cost efficient for me to spend $20 bucks and get new shiny ones. I love these knives. They are sharp and I abuse them, throw them in the dishwasher, and hack away. In a year I'll buy a new set. Honestly, the brand doesn't matter, I just buy the set that is cheapest, has covers, and has the knives I want in it.

This set of knives is a great value. A little over $2 each knife, I needed a set for my travel trailer that will be used only a couple times monthly, without spending lots of dollars. This set is perfect for that! I have used a similar set at a relative's house, and the weight and sharpness is ok. Not a $100 set good, but definitely good enough. I was awaiting them to arrive so I could check the purple cover, as other reviewers reported the cover didn't fit. Mine fits perfect.

I like the set, except the sheath on the largest knife is very tight and difficult to remove and replace. I like the idea of a sheath as a safety factor. I tend to avoid the larger knife for fear of cutting myself when I remove it.

I love these! I have not had a reason to use the largest one, but I use the smaller ones almost daily. They're so sharp and easy to use, and also easy to clean. The yellow one and orange serrated ones get the most use at my house and I am very happy with them.

Very pretty knives. They did have a good bit of scuffs where the paint came off...thankfully very small. That said, I hope the color will hold up and I definitely have them on a strict hand wash only policy. The price was okay...so I didn't feel like complaining or the hassle of exchanging them over a few scuffs. They work out of the box, but my husband immediately sharpened them to his high standards and they slice and dice to our satisfaction. It's more fun, in my opinion, to cook with pretty things and fun colors. The company might do well to ship more carefully in the future, to avoid flaws in the beautiful color of their products.
