I used the USB-C extension cable to connect a Monoprice Select Series USB-C to 3x USB-A 3.0 Gigabit Ethernet and USB-C (F) Adapter to my Dell Inspiron laptop. When I first connected the the adapter the mouse and keyboard did not work. The paperwork that came with the cables said this may happen and to disconnect the extension cable and turn over the female connector and re-connect because the cable requires a specific orientation.
