This is the best looking game I've played yet on PS5 - especially for an open world game. See screenshots - no more to say there. Exploring the open world is fun and the option to turn off individual elements of Ubi's trademark interface clutter really improves the immersion. Glad theyve added so many HUD toggle options with this one. Also happy to have another great first person game on PS with MS buying up so many other FPS and immersive sim developers. If you're craving that, you'll probably love this and it's a great value at its current price. If you play every Far Cry or AC game, you may be a bit burned out on the formula, but if you're like me and skip a few in between then you'll appreciate the improvements that have been made over past games. Bases and outposts feel more unique, there's more variety and they make sense in the world (checkpoints, anti air bases, weather stations, fields, prisons, etc.). Enemies don't spawn behind you out of nowhere like in FC5, and the world generally feels more believable because of it. Its not perfect and there are still a few weird design decisions (can't pick up enemy weapons after killing them, no sleeping to pass time, looting is automatic when you step on an animal or enemy, hunting and crafting feel less essential than previous games, etc.) But these quirks do make sense given the story and setting. For me, this is the best Far Cry since Far Cry 3 and certainly the best looking. Especially in 4K HDR. Weather effects look awesome. If you loved exploring that island setting in FC3, you will enjoy this one too. The story so far is interesting and seems about as engaging as FC4 and FC5 which is to say it's solid but not currently FC3 level IMO. I can't fully judge it yet since I'm only 10-20 hours in. At the current sale price, this is a must buy and even at full price, I'd say this game is worth it if you know you like Far Cry games or are looking for an open world FPS.

Having been seriously burned by both 4 and 5 when compared against my experiences with 1 and 3, I completely overlooked this game due to expectations being low. After my friend got it on a whim and showed me some gameplay changes, I bit the bullet and went in myself. Guns finally feel diverse. Removing skills from an redundant experience system that felt more tedious than rewarding and instead assigning them to mods and gear makes those slight tweaks between players that much more impactful. A story devoid of some preconceived notion that you are doing the right thing while acknowledging you actually are just acting in retaliation to a totalitarian regime and sort of reveling in the chaos that comes with overthrowing it makes the tone much closer to the 1st and 3rd entries. A Modding system that feels pleasantly meaningful , either giving you the right changes to make a weapon suit your play style or feeding into the build from your gear, going loud or quiet hasn’t felt this good in a long time… all of this companied with the AI/direction of programming being the most complex and engaging it’s ever been? This is not only a great entry for newcomers but for those long burned by recent iterations. Give it a go if you like what you’ve seen in gameplay, you won’t regret it. I wish Ubisoft was putting out more titles this well produced… excluding the handful of bugs that have resulted in me screaming endlessly because the game still thinks I’m on fire or more fun ones like slamming into a soldado humvee at top speeds causing it to launch into orbit around the planet.

Far Cry 6 for the PlayStation 5 is an absolute masterpiece. The graphics are stunning and the gameplay is smooth and immersive. The story is captivating and the character development is superb. The open world environment is vast and full of hidden secrets and side quests to discover. The AI is intelligent and the enemy encounters are challenging and rewarding. The weapons and vehicles are diverse and fun to use. I have put countless hours into this game and I am constantly finding new things to do. The added features for the PlayStation 5, such as the DualSense controller and 3D audio, really take the gameplay to the next level. I highly recommend Far Cry 6 for any fan of the series or anyone looking for a new action-packed adventure.

So many negative reviews. I have to say that 3 blew my mind. Amazing game. Revolutionary for the time. I also love Primal in that it was different. 4, 5 and new Dawn I could not get into. 6 adds a beautiful new world to run around in and it doesn't feel like a chore. The story and characters are great, the rpg elements and loot are great. Very happy I purchased this. Best experience since 3 and primal.

I was so excited when I saw trailers for this game! But when I heard that someone else was leading it, my hopes fell. I recently played through farcry 3,4,5 Blood Dragon and Primal then finished through New Dawn. This game took a lot of elements from new dawn, but ultimately doesn't work do to the large scale of the game. New dawn was actually a personal favorite of mine, mainly for the music and very ending, but also because it didn't really get repetitive for me. You can say the villains sucked, but I think that was completely intentional. It was a fun side step after the bigger more serious games. Farcry 5 for me was what this game should've built on, but instead they chose to make it into a destiny style game inside a immersive environment, at least it would be immersive, if they didn't diverge so far from 5. Ultimately, it's a game you have to be in the mood to play, if you feel like picking up everything you see, managing your gear, and checking everything off a list, it can be fun. The villain Anton Castillo is OK, mainly because of the actor, but ultimately he has no qualities that make you see his way or just like him regardless of ideology, he just kinda seems evil, like 2D evil. And you'll keep feeling like that, because the people that work for him act like full on terrorists. The combat is nowhere near as fun for me, after playing the last games, even after playing new dawn, which this games takes a lot of elements from, it just doesn't work for me. I did find a way to make it fun though, problem is its the only way I play now. I really like using the poison bullets to turn people against each other, and any time a vehicle pulls up, I'll use a firework launcher 🎆 The amigos aren't as good as they were in new dawn, but they're all cute I guess. I miss beautiful Horatio from New Dawn 😔 I'd give this game a 6/10 compared to the recent games. It just feels hollow to me. For the prices you can get it at right now, I'd say give it a try.
