  • Gorgeous Open World FPS
Platform For Display: PlayStation 5 Edition: Standard
This is the best looking game I've played yet on PS5 - especially for an open world game. See screenshots - no more to say there. Exploring the open world is fun and the option to turn off individual elements of Ubi's trademark interface clutter really improves the immersion. Glad theyve added so many HUD toggle options with this one. Also happy to have another great first person game on PS with MS buying up so many other FPS and immersive sim developers. If you're craving that, you'll probably love this and it's a great value at its current price. If you play every Far Cry or AC game, you may be a bit burned out on the formula, but if you're like me and skip a few in between then you'll appreciate the improvements that have been made over past games. Bases and outposts feel more unique, there's more variety and they make sense in the world (checkpoints, anti air bases, weather stations, fields, prisons, etc.). Enemies don't spawn behind you out of nowhere like in FC5, and the world generally feels more believable because of it. Its not perfect and there are still a few weird design decisions (can't pick up enemy weapons after killing them, no sleeping to pass time, looting is automatic when you step on an animal or enemy, hunting and crafting feel less essential than previous games, etc.) But these quirks do make sense given the story and setting. For me, this is the best Far Cry since Far Cry 3 and certainly the best looking. Especially in 4K HDR. Weather effects look awesome. If you loved exploring that island setting in FC3, you will enjoy this one too. The story so far is interesting and seems about as engaging as FC4 and FC5 which is to say it's solid but not currently FC3 level IMO. I can't fully judge it yet since I'm only 10-20 hours in. At the current sale price, this is a must buy and even at full price, I'd say this game is worth it if you know you like Far Cry games or are looking for an open world FPS. ... show more

  • Love this game. Can never go wrong with Far Cry!
Platform For Display: PlayStation 5 Edition: Standard
Far Cry 6 for the PlayStation 5 is an absolute masterpiece. The graphics are stunning and the gameplay is smooth and immersive. The story is captivating and the character development is superb. The open world environment is vast and full of hidden secrets and side quests to discover. The AI is intelligent and the enemy encounters are challenging and rewarding. The weapons and vehicles are diverse and fun to use. I have put countless hours into this game and I am constantly finding new things to do. The added features for the PlayStation 5, such as the DualSense controller and 3D audio, really take the gameplay to the next level. I highly recommend Far Cry 6 for any fan of the series or anyone looking for a new action-packed adventure. ... show more

  • Huge step up from 5
Platform For Display: PlayStation 5 Edition: Standard
Far Cry came back this year kind of going back to formula. This game is still Far Cry but innovated enough that it justifies the 6 behind it. First thing I want to bring up your character talks. You play Danni with a choice of male or female character. In the first time ever Far Cry will have actual cut scenes. I enjoyed this immensely. Seeing my Danni and whatever outfit actually being a character vs being just some shell I am supposed to role play or whatever they were trying in 5. The villain Giancarlo Esposito is fantastic. While we have seen a dictator villain before Esposito bring less of a crazy version and more power hungry leader. They show so much more of the villain this time around which for a series that is infamous for having great villains it is amazing it took them this long to get around to it. The story is blowing things up to start a revolution. There isn't much depth but boy is it fun. The gameplay is slightly different this time around. There is no hunting for upgrades nor climbing towers. You either do main missions, side missions, treasure hunts or just blowing things up. There is a lot to do in this world. The issue I had with this is they still had some form of level up system that just determined if you can take on the enemies. I didn't understand it at all because it isn't like you can just run to Esposito and kill him out right from the beginning. Because this is in place it forces you to do a bunch of extra side missions to stay the right level for the main missions you do. If that is the case then they are actually side missions in my opinion. Overall the game is still fun and you will get over 20 hours of fun out of this. They still have some wacky characters with a decent enough story. If you hated 5 like me give this one a try still this is a vast improvement and almost on par with Far Cry 4. ... show more

  • Great AAA video game
Platform For Display: PlayStation 5 Edition: Standard
This is my first introduction to Far Cry franchise. I really like the game and appreciate the storyline; there are lots of side stories as well. Lots of creativity in game play are available: FPS, driving, flying, mini games, co-op Its not a short game (if that is a turn off) but well worth the game time to finish. I'm still only 1/3 of the way to completion. When I began to play it the majority of bugs have been fixed by you can find a few that don't hinder enjoying the game. There are several DLC also for continuing the game experience ... show more
