  • Useful, but Needs an Update
This 2004 book is useful for those who are looking to open a childcare business. It is chalk-full of sound advice, however, there is at least one statement in each chapter that is simply outdated and no longer applicable. For example, the book refers to the "relatively new" LLC structure for companies. Well, forming an LLC is old hat now that it's 2020, and there could be valuable, updated information about this business structure in a revised edition. Even though this book is written for those interested in pursuing an at-home daycare, I am organizing a facility away from my home and still found much of the preventative action and tips for legal matters relevant. I would recommend this book with the proviso that it receives an update to reflect the 2020s. ... show more
