There is a very popular social media personality/influencer who sells online courses for sexual-spiritual development and if you're looking into reading this book, you've probably heard of her. She lifts surfboards, among other things like coconuts and garden nomes, with her PC muscles and jade egg. I would have loved to have taken one of her courses, except that they cost $1,200. I won't knock the hustle but that's out of my, and many other people's price range, especially when the courses or "salons" as she calls them are only open once or twice a year. It's a good business strategy to create limited-time offers and urgency plus she understandably can only take so many people on at once since she does individualized coaching calls in the program. So the cost makes sense for the individual attention she gives her clients, but the idea of paying that much for a course and missing out if I couldn't afford it and having to wait a full year before moving forward in my sexual-spiritual journey was stressing me out. After viewing her content, I found myself wishing that she had a book that I could get started with. She doesn't but I found this book and I'm glad I did for several reasons. - This book is less than $15, compared to her courses which are over $1,000. - This book contains many ideas and phrases I have heard her use in her own content. Except this book was first published in the 80s which predates YouTube or any online course. Such ideas include sexual energy is life force/spiritual energy, energy expelling/draining outward orgasms vs. energy expanding/revitalizing inward orgasms, the exact phrase "ovarian/vaginal kung fu," developing articulation and control in the PC muscles so that the pelvic floor has as much dexterity as your hand, and lightening/eliminating menstrual flow only through the use of Taoist breathing practices and meditations to transform the energy (no hormones or other interventions). - Jade Eggs. Both she and this book speak of developing the PC muscles so that they have the same level of dexterity and articulation as your hands through the use of the jade egg. And a quality drilled genuine jadeite or nephrite jade egg can be found online for under $100 (hers is one egg + some extras for $300), I got a set of 2 nephrite eggs for $75 on Gemstone Yoni Eggs website over a year ago but never used them because there is so much conflicting information out there. This book will tell you how to use your yoni egg with no confusion or fluff like other Kindle books I've purchased to learn how to use the eggs. Be sure to buy eggs with drilled holes so that you can practice the ovarian kung fu weight lifting exercises. I'm really glad I found this book. It's the OG source in the West for sexual-spiritual development, and Mantak Chia writes in a precise, non-confusing way. A $1200 course might be for you if you need or desire personal coaching but this book is a more than an acceptable DIY replacement for those of us who can't afford expensive online courses and coaching or just prefer to clear our own blocks and learn things on our own. I had been wishing and praying for a solution that would help me develop in this area of my life whether that be extra money to afford the course or another path. This book popped up in my Kindle recommendations and is the answer to my prayers. I've also been looking into other books by Mantak Chia and Diana Richardson on the topic of sexual-spiritual development. So glad I bought this book!

Groundbreaking and effective

This book goes far beyond any other book I have ever read about female sexuality, and believe me I've read plenty of them over the years. It encourages you to go beyond thinking about sex per se and to use your sexual life force to begin functioning sexually on a much higher level, beyond anything you might even have considered possible. These procedures are designed to give you complete mastery over your body's physical responses. Some can be difficult in the beginning but practice makes them easier. For example, he shows you step-by-step how to channel sexual energy so that instead of having a physical climax, you can spiral that very energy throughout your body, one location at a time. This has the effect of revitalizing all your organs, glands, and nerves in each location as the energy passes through it. Those familiar with the macrocosmic orbit will recognize the procedure. Once you develop this ability, you will be able to experience greater and more fulfilling physical climaxes that are not localized but involve your entire body. Ultimately it's designed to enable you and your partner to experience a complete physical and spiritual union as well as a union with God or the universe or the higher power or whatever you want to call it.. Since it can be difficult to do the steps he describes while holding the book in your hand and reading the instructions, I recommend taping yourself reading the instructions out loud at an un-hurried pace and then using the tape instead of the book to guide you through the exercises. This is a challenging book but completely rewarding if you actually start putting the steps into practice. I had some resistance in the beginning to going and trying some of them. It was much easier to just keep reading. But when I pushed through and followed his instructions for a few things, I was really impressed and inspired by the way they made me feel. The first time I sat down and actually did the entire ovarian breathing process - and believe me, I did NOT do it perfectly - I felt an awakening in my body that was profound and inspiring.. I've been practicing raja, hatha, and swara yoga for a while, so I guess I was ready, but I feel that this book can benefit anyone with even the slightest inclination to try some of the methods he provides, and just a little bit of practice will go a long way. This book isn't for everyone. It's not a bunch of intellectual exercises, but it does involve your mind as well as your body and your spirit. It provides very practical physical steps that you can do by yourself, and later with your partner. If you think you're going to simply read it and have it change your life, you could be disappointed. To get the most out of this book you will have to apply yourself. But even if you simply read it, it can open your mind to what is possible. The rewards will probably be on a scale with how much effort you put into it. Clarity in Esotericism is rare.

I have the men's version of this book as well. I have the men's physical book, while I have the women's digital. I agree that the women's was written by Mantak's wife, or *HEAVILY* edited by her. They are a lovely couple and I believe they are used to using his name in the publishing world. Frankly, in 2005, women were ready to hear these truths from a woman--but I understand and do not fault them. As to the text, it makes an esoteric subject 3D, which is difficult to do. The drawings are rudimentary and sometimes a little vague, like the language. It helps when the author directs with a lay person's language, given that not everyone is Taoist or has an acupuncture chart at home. It is very clear, and written to encourage the reader without sentimentality but instead with ease of accomplishment. I caution the reader that the writer is writing this in retrospect. It's been many years since I have had to accomplish the steps with a) a lot of help b) someone more accomplished than I. It's also very true women tend to intuit some of these steps rather well. However, I wanted to see them written out from both sides (male & female). Just so you know, the authour(s) tend to skim over anything that is NOT related to physical sex. They focus solely on physical sex and how it relates to energetic sex, with mentions of other types of energy simply to delineate rather than explain. I actually found reading the men's version more interesting, because the women's book simply refers to the other books and energetic routines over and over. If you have not read the other books, you'll be up a creek. Brilliant sales tactic, but it's annoying if you don't already understand energy work or have their books or both. But again, it's brilliant considering they are teaching energy healing through books.

Great results take time and work.

I have been working with this book for a little under a month, and am very happy with the progress I've been making. I totally understand other reviewers' concerns that a subject and method this complex should be taught in person; however, as a person who has been working gently with meditation, yoga, kundalini energy and related methods for roughly ten years, I feel that this book is an appropriate self-teaching tool for myself and others like me. Moving energy through the body often isn't an easy thing, even for someone experienced with energy/body work. It's something that should be described in detail, as this book does without becoming pedantic. I particularly am appreciative of the recommendation that the reader master one section before moving to the next. I'm still working on the Microcosmic Orbit (Chapter 4), and have not yet progressed to Ovarian Breathing. I would like to go faster, and am at times frustrated, but failure with other methods has shown me that a time-tested and contemplative method such as this one is just the right way for me to go. This method is working for me, and has worked for countless people since it was first written in 1986. Not only am I experiencing an improvement in the intimate areas of my life, I also am having a much easier time sending energy to a particular spot in my body and sensing energy in others. This is very important to me, as I am currently working toward Reiki II training. The most wonderful thing of all: this book aims to empower people to enrich the private, sensual moments in their lives, but the benefits of what this author illustrates extend far beyond intimate encounters and into the realm of everyday life. This is wholly expansive and utilitarian material, for the serious seeker of a higher energy and a higher life potential.

A Description of Transformation

Chia's book Healing Love Through The Tao: Cultivating Female Sexual Energy is an insightful and revealing book about sexual energy. So much of the West centers on the quick sexual experience that they miss something deeper within each one of us. They miss the cultivation of sexual energy and how it can rejuvenate us and give life for themselves and in relationships with others. With sexual transmutation, they can experience more creativity in their lives. I believe this book can help females transform and become healthier.

It says 'Mantak' is the author however I think his wife wrote or closely edited this book. The personality of this book is precious. I think it is the best book they produced and it is one of the first written if not published a little later. If you are into martial arts, this information can be very meaningful to begin to comprise a rare and viable path. It can be easily misunderstood from western conventional thinking. It's like learning to unfathom the art to make good tea now that you appreciate good coffee. The formulas are within oneself, so it is a good usable guide to discover the language and thinking processes or mindset for developing one's own "Formulas". It briefly touches upon the deleterious karmic consequences of tantric yoga mal- practice, however that is a whole'nother'world and if you are truly seeking an alternative way, this book could be a catalyst to helping you to finding your destiny.. Who knows, with this knowledge base, you might win the first marathon that you ever run!

An amazing, practical book packed with information

What a deal. This book holds some powerful knowledge that has helped me to find unprecedented connection and pleasure from my sex life. I am lucky enough to have a lover who had read the male counterpart to this book and introduced me to the joys of Taoist loving; I can now enjoy my body (and his) in ways I didn't know existed. I thought certain pleasures were just out of the question for me, that I was one of the unlucky ones--it turns out I just had to unlock myself a bit! I am so grateful for this book. Emperors once traded fortunes for this information, and for good reason. I'm sure you can afford the price tag for this gem.

I can’t put it down

I’ve had orgasms I can’t explain. I also thought sexual energy was so much more than the physical act. I love all the illustrations and deep dive into female anatomy. Grateful for this work. Only 1/3 of the way through so far.
