  • Excellent for HEAVY kickers
Size: Extra Thick
We have a strong karate/ kickboxing background and have focused in on Muay Thai for the past 3 yrs so our kicking game is solid. PROS: 1. Hold up better than any other pad we have ever purchased be it for our students or fighter training. 2. The extra thick pads are designed for powerful kickers!! My son is such a powerful kicker that no one could hold for him any longer, even at 50-60% power which was a problem for training. My forearms were severely bruised and began to splinter from holding for him with a different set of Fairtex pads. However, with these I can hold and he can kick with speed and power and all I feel is the pressure from the impact of meeting his kick— but NO pain, NO injuries for either of us. 3. Not heavy, I’d say they are standard weight even with the extra padding 4. Longer than most pads- they cover my entire forearm and elbow so no more toes or shin to the elbow again preventing injury for both holder and fighter. 5. Well made like all Fairtex products. 6. Fit snug to the forearm without too much extra on the handles. CONS: 1. Pricier than most- but you get what you pay for. For us, it’s well worth it to prevent injury and promote proper training 2. Definitely NOT for the beginner or for students who are just wanting to learn but not compete. Unless you throw solid, powerful and fast kicks on a consistent basis with highly conditioned shins— you probably don’t need these. IMO, these pads are ‘next step’ pads - definitely don’t need in the beginning but may later on. 4. Tough to break in- they are very stiff which is great for fighters but not so much newer students ... show more

  • The standard
Size: Extra Thick
Not much to say about them...other than the undeniable fact that this model sets the standard for kick pads. Even Fairtex's newest model isn't up to par. These pads have heft. They gotta be made with solid padding 'cause I don't feel shins on my forearms. Don't get me wrong, I feel the momentum transmitted during impact, but rarely have I ever felt the impression of tibia on ulna and radius. Kicks go here to die. I say rarely because my old pair is going on 4 years old and have developed a crease in the middle, and with the right kicker, the pads will fold. But that's to be expected after thousands of kicks over the years. With other pads that are lighter and softer, I've felt shins on day one. These pads aren't indestructible, just extremely durable. If you want indestructible, then kick a bollard. ... show more

  • Dont F around with other pads. Get these.
Size: Standard
I own about 4 pairs of thai pads and these are by far the best. You definitely want to invest in a pair of curved thai pads and I like these since they are a bit on the smaller side. This allows for much quicker transitions to hold for combos. The padding is thicker thus your forearms wont eat as much damage. They are a bit on the stiffer side, so it may require a little bit of shin conditioning to get accustomed. I mean other than that... its Fairtex, so its quality all the way through. I definitely did my homework prior to getting these and I just don't know if anything is comparable. There are also the Top King thai pads which are hard to get in the states apparently, but they are much more costly and I think way heavier. Fine if you need thicker pads, but I imagine they are harder to maneuver. ... show more

  • Buy em!!
Size: Standard
These pads have held up extremely well. They can take a beating for sure. I'm an amateur kickboxer & use them daily. I also train with pro mma guys so these things get used a lot. I would definitely buy them again! The price is exceptional considering that Fairtex regarded as one if the top brands out there. I would recommend these to anyone looking for a durable set of Thai pads. ... show more

  • Looks good and feels comfortable when holding for others to kick
Awesome Thai Pads! Took me some time to write a review because I wanted to give this some time before I give my opinion to others. I Used these constantly and it's starting to show signs of wear (purchased 1 year ago) but all the seams and leather is still in tact. The abuse from kicking, knees, elbows and punches has shown how good these pads are and how long they can last. The padding is still nice and thick has a small indentation from the hard kicks. My Muay Thai training is intense so these extra thick thai pads are amazing the price is high, but worth it. Don't get cheap thai pads because you will be switching them out within a years time if your consistently training. I've done it several times already so get a good brand thai pad if you want good build quality.Twins, Fairtex, and Yokkao are some of the top Muay Thai brands. ... show more

  • The best out there
Size: Extra Thick
Before ordering the Fairtex pads, I tried another brand off here (which shall remain nameless), but was not very satisfied with the overall feel and performance. I decided to cut my loses and invest in a better set of pads and choose these ones since we use them at my Muay Thai gym. I originally ordered the regular sized pads, but my Kru recommended to get the bigger ones if you're working with someone over 180 lbs. Since one of my friends is well over that "threshold", I decided to invest in the larger pads. Shipping was fast and the packaging was sufficient for the pads. I have now been using these for a couple months and am very pleased with them. Plenty of padding for all sized fighters and easy to adjust. I will say they get heavy quickly, but I don't really mind this as that in itself is a good workout. I don't see myself buying another set of thai pads for a long time, but if I do, these would be an automatic repeat! ... show more

  • this one is by far the best one that I have used
Size: Standard
As far as Muay Thai kicking pads go, this one is by far the best one that I have used. The construction is excellent and made of real leather. The wraps have extra padding which makes them more comfortable. I hold pads for some strong kickers and with these pads, a barely feel their kicks. They are a bit heavy but compared to other pads, these one are lighter. But you need that weight in the pads to absorb all that energy that goes on to them. These pads are an excellent choice. Now if you’re a beginner and are using these pads out of the box, you might feel some pain. Just have one of your training partners break them in for you. :-) ... show more
