  • Price point and works!
We needed a inexpensive mic stand, and found the "Facmogu"! overhead mic stand and didn't care that you use a Allen wrench to tighten the arm joints. It had to hold some weight and needed to be a mic stand that we could set and forget. It's purpose was to pull a mic in or swing it away when it was not being used. It works well with a Rode Pod mic 937g/2.06 lbs., the stands max the weight limit is 1kg/2.2 lbs. and it does come close to maxing the arm out. Luckily the arm is diecast metal of some type, and uses Teflon washers at the joints so you are able to snug them into position but leave just enough tension that you can adjust if needed. The mic connection part of the mic stand is surprisingly articulate, it was very easy to find a nice position to lock the mic into. It also came with a 5/8,3/8 adapter. Another nice surprise was the mounting hardware for the edge of the desk, the stand had really nice rubber padding on the base and clamp so you do not scratch up your desk when tightening it. We had ordered a different much much more expensive adjustable mic arm that did not have rubber padding to protect the desk, also did not come with a 5/8,3/8 adapter! Our box was a open box and got it for a bit of a discount along with a store coupon, few dollars less in the end. If you don't mind a semi fixed position mic arm and are looking for one that does not break the bank, given what it was made out of metal diecast, the rubber padding on the base mount and clamp, the 5/8,3/8 adapter, and using Teflon washers, this was a really great purchase. ... show more

  • Not what I hoped for
The joints of this mic boom have to be tightened with a hex wrench. And once you have it where you want, that's it. If you try to adjust it again the joints get loose. And it's not made for a microphone with any heft. I thought these joints would bend some to allow adjustment. I will get rid of it eventually. ... show more

  • Great stand
It’s a great stand how you can lock it in so that it doesn’t move but you can still swivel it at the base without having to unlock or lock it, I recommend it

  • Not a mic arm that can move freely
The only thing I don’t like is that once you set it up you can’t move it to much because it locks in place and you can’t move it around like others.

  • Works great
Exactly the kind of arm I was looking for.

  • Holds the Microphone effienciently
It is very stable. Locks in position with an allen wrench.

  • Strong arms, difficult joints
The I-beam arms are excellent because they are strong where it counts and light weight. The desk clamp is also good, and unlike others I have tried, the C-clamp is strong enough to not bend out of shape when tightened to the desktop. The i-beams make routine/hiding cables relatively easy and looks with black cable wraps. The only negative is the joints connecting each arm must be tightened very tightly to hold my microphone in place, which is not especially heavy. With everything tight, the whole things rotates easily on the mount (I chose not to tighten that so I can swing it out of the way). The overall length is long enough to elevate the mic to face level while holding it out of camera. I wish it were easier to adjust, but otherwise it does the job. ... show more
