  • A winner when used in combination with other facial exercises
This is a handy little device that does exactly what you would expect - works the middle third of your face where the "action" of the exercise takes place. If it did nothing else, Facial Flex would be useful just for improved circulation and skin tone. But it does more than that and I'm very satisfied after several months of use. It has toned my cheeks and as a nice surprise, has plumped my lips and reduced my lip lines. Overall, it has improved the frame of my face and tightened my sagging 56 y/o skin. It is not, however, the whole ball of wax. A variety of facial exercise programs offer tips on how to strengthen the forehead, eye area and jaw line. I do a few of these in combination with the Facial Flex for best results. One of my beefs about facial exercise programs is that they prescribe a total face regimen that is essentially the same for everyone and takes like 20 minutes. However, facial muscles are not like biceps and facial structure varies greatly from person to person. When using Facial Flex or doing other facial exercises, look in the mirror while exercising and afterward. If the motion appears to be deepening creases or causing new wrinkles, either modify the way you're performing the exercise or do something different. Giving up on facial exercise altogether is sort of throwing the baby out with the bathwater. There are enough programs out there that you can improve your facial tone once you find the particular exercises that work for you. Again, be your own boss in determining the ideal frequency of exercising. I use the Facial Flex only once a day, in the evening, because twice a day was simply too much. Facial Flex is a very convenient and time-saving way to get bang for your buck in working the middle of the face. The only reason I'm deducting one star is that I feel the claims for the device (when used by itself) are somewhat exaggerated and that the leap from 8 oz to 14 oz resistance bans is too great. An intermediate resistance should be available. Otherwise, I love and continue to use this product daily. ... show more

  • Afraid to believe I'm already seeing results
I didn't expect to leave a review this soon. *I really wish sellers wouldn't ask me to review purchases I can't possibly have used long enough to actually see any results. Cut it out!!!* After using this for about a week and a half, I went through drive thru at the pharmacy to pick up some medications. I go to the pharmacy once a month, nearly always the drive thru, where they have those horrible, low quality video cameras. Even worse, my own image is shown right back to me. I hate seeing my face in those cameras! I always hope I don't really look at bad as that!!! So I was at my regular pharmacy in the drive thru sitting in front of that camera, avoiding looking at my image when I caught a glance of myself. This time, I didn't look away in horror. I was amazed to see that I looked so much better. No make-up that day, no contouring to disguise the jowls. My hair was pulled back so I could clearly see all of my face. I actually stared at my jawline. It was definitely not wishful thinking. I'm my own worst critic. I've been using a spa quality at home micro-current device for 3 years now. I've had exceptional results in the eye and forehead area. I've been very happy with that part of my face. To get any real results below the eyes takes a huge amount of time daily, much much longer than 2 minutes. I do a lot of other things to my face including derma planing, derma rolling, red light therapy, masks, etc., etc..... Doing all of of things takes significantly less time than one session of micro-current on every part of my face below the eyes for barely noticeable results. I just don't have time to do all of that on a daily basis. This device has cut down A LOT on my anti-aging routine, less than half the time I use to put into my face to get real results. And a lot more convenient. I can throw it in my purse if I'm running short on time. I'm very happy with this purchase and very glad I bought it. I'm not ready to post before pictures, but I will after I feel enough time has passed, but mostly when I'm ready to give my jawline another hard look. A note about my before and after pictures. I've noticed that all 'before and after' pictures I've seen are in different lighting, the person is not wearing make-up in the before, the image quality is different, better in the after, the angle is different. In my opinion, this isn't a reliable comparison. I'm taking my pictures in my closet with the door closed. Same horrible light, same camera, same image quality settings, no filters. All variables exactly the same, including where I am positioned in relation to the light source. I even made a note of the light bulb itself in case it burns out! ... show more

  • I have read that some people have developed lines or their facial lines become worse after using the tool
You do feel your muscles working, in particular the sides of the mouth, lower cheek and neck. I have read that some people have developed lines or their facial lines become worse after using the tool. To prevent this you need to isolate the muscle. This ensures that you don't develop or make lines worse. Another benefit of doing this is that it makes the movement a bit more difficult and therefore I use my bands longer. You isolate your muscle by using your fingers at the spots that tend to wrinkle. Let's say you want to work the sides of your mouth, place your finger at each side of the mouth with a bit of firmness. Go on youtube and search for a video called how best to use facial flex video demonstration (Facial flex Europe) to get a visual. MOISTURIZE 1st, ENSURE that the large side is in your mouth NOT the smaller. I did it with the larger side out initially and my jaws started to pop like TMJ. So I gave it a break for about 2 months. I later found out that the larger side should have been placed in the mouth. I've been ok since. I think the book Facial Fitness by Patricia Goroway is great.I also isolate the muscles with her techniques. Her exercises are very simple, except the one with the nose :). I think I would try her's 1st to see if you get results ( videos on YouTube). If you have horizontal lines on your forehead her simple exercise eliminated mine. Plus I started drinking more water to keep my skin hydrated. Try her 1st. Take a before picture. Then do an after pic in about 2 weeks for the facial flex. If you try Patricia's exercise take a picture in about 1 week of doing it consistently. Facerobics on youtube is another one that is ok-ish but too complicated for me. I want simple. I hope this helps someone. ... show more
