Simple to set up and fun to use, Meta Portal is a smart video calling device for a closer connection to friends and family—wherever they are. Once you’ve connected, Smart Camera pans and zooms to keep you in frame so you can move and talk naturally, while Smart Sound minimizes background noise and enhances your voice. Meta Portal’s simple privacy settings mean you can easily disable the camera and microphone, or block the lens with the camera cover. All Meta Portal WhatsApp calls are end-to-end encrypted and you can choose to call individual Messenger contacts using end-to-end encryption. Meta Portal needs a wireless internet connection and AC power. Meta Portal voice command availability varies. Screen images simulated. User experience may vary. Pros: simple to set up and audio/video quality is amazing. Camera motion is really smooth and reliable and overall a great device that is optimized for video chat. Nails the call grandparents scenario for my kids. Cons: has to be plugged in. There's no battery. This is annoying. It's 2020 put a battery in it. You'd think this is obvious but it makes the device super lame that it has to be plugged in. UX can be clunky at times. We all naturally have a lot of Facebook friends but I don't want my son to accidentally dial a friend I haven't talked to in 10 years. The angle of the stand is a little off. When on a table it seems to point the camera towards ceiling more than we would prefer. So you end up being in the bottom half of the frame not the whole thing. ... show more

Got it for my parents in another country. All they need it wifi and their whattsapp so simple! Love it when I call them they aren't always sitting and talking. So the camera moving to their faces is such a cool feature and convenient. You can also play music and watch things on it. Love how you can also read a book to them. OH you can also have many family members talk together too! I got all my parents and their children to talk together regardless of where they are at! ... show more

For all the elderly or just people who don't want to learn facebook, you just have to sign into a new account once and leave a message she can only be reached by messenger. No Facebook Hassel! It has been a godsend since Covid19. Especially because my moms on oxygen. This is a fantastic product it came just in time to be able to visit with my mother after a year during covid. I got this for her for Christmas and boy was it a hit! Until yesterday the camera completely stopped working. I'll give this a 100 and do a commercial for free that's how wonderful it was. Please contact me on what to do? I really thought this was incredible until it stopped working. Updated: Received great customer service!
