In an endless search for something perhaps a little healthier/cleaner than this product, I always find myself coming back to it time and time again. I like the translucent because that is exactly what it is - not translucent fair, translucent medium, translucent dark etc. etc. - just plain old translucent without complicating the issue. I use it to soak up the shine on my face and pat down the grease from my moisturizer and it does just that. Sometimes it leaves a little too much powder on my face but that's easy to get rid of with a brush stoke from my blush brush. It also keeps the shine away for a lengthy period which makes me happy as I prefer more of a matt look. I also like it because it doesn't break up, especially as it starts getting to the end of it's life, unlike a lot of products which do break up and you end up throwing quite a bit away. The price point and availability here on AMAZON is also great. Overall, except for the fact I wish it were a 'cleaner' product, I have always been very happy with it and would recommend to anyone look for a simple, pressed face powder. ... show more

This is the best powder I've ever used for my skin type. I have oily skin and struggle with occasional breakouts. This makeup does not clog my pores which is very important to me. It goes on smoothly and lasts all day.

This one has one flaw, that really drives me crazy. The compact is on the top, the puffy applicator is under it. So instead of opening it, and using the applicator sponge, you have to open it push up the powder, applicator is UNDER the powder, so you have to close it, use it, close it, put powder on the applicator, and keep doing it untill your finished.. Why can't you open it, apply it? The opening and closing 5xs is annoying. I used to get one that came like that so the applicator wouldn't rub on powder in trasit, but this one can't be reversed. And the 1st one I opened, the top broke off but got a refund. A compact you should open, apply and go. I love this powder, no foundation needed accept under and above my eye a little cover-up... Anyone have idea's? They changed it on me and it's inconvenient. But I love it. ... show more

If you truly have a fair complexion, you may want to go with the translucent. I wish I did. I was just going by the picture, but the product is actually darker. It is really more of a buff color. I have used these face powders in translucent many times in the past, and they are one of my favorites. They seem to soften your facial appearance, and do not settle into fine lines, accentuating them, like some face powders do. I will just have to remember to get the translucent next time, as I have in times past. ... show more
