  • It's exactly as advertised.Easy to fold
Easy to fold and very easy to unfold. I now own two of these. I keep a spare in my car just in case I forget the one I usually use when I am out and about.

  • Very versatile
Used the bendy cane on the airplane when I was not allowed to use any other ambulatory devices.

  • Life saver!
Injured my knee badly right before a trip abroad. Item was delivered very quickly, in time for travel. Easy to assemble and also long enough option for tall people So far, it’s been great!

  • Surprisingly sturdy
This was bought as a collection of gag gifts for a friends recent 60th birthday. We bought some other “old age” related items. He said he would definitely keep for use, very handy. Well made for the price.

  • A true bargain.
It's not the best, the strongest, or the most comfortable, but it serves its purpose very well. It was great for travel and stood up to some grueling museum and airport lines. For the price, it's hard to beat. I am very satisfied and would recommend it to anyone.

  • Good value
I am recovering from lumbar surgery and currently need some extra support when walking. I purchased this cane to have something more compact and stylish than the plainly utilitarian shiny aluminum adjustable (but not foldable) cane we've had around here for years. This one was less expensive than several others and received pretty good reviews, so I took a chance on it. We just returned from a two week Danube river cruise that included quite a few walking tours which gave it a real workout. First off, this is exactly as represented: a fairly sturdy walking cane, composed of four sections of aluminum tubing, that folds up compactly for carrying or storage when not in use. An elastic cord running the length of the interior keeps all the parts together when the cane sections are separated, similar to the system used for many backpacking tent poles. A hook-and-loop strip can be used to tie the folded sections together to keep it compact. I often would fold it into two or three sections to make it easier to deal with while seated and I have not suffered the cord separation a few others have reported. Due to its construction with the tapered top of each section fitting into the untapered bottom of the section above it, there is no danger of the sections coming apart or buckling when weight is applied. In fact applying weight just makes each joint tighter and more secure. There is a little give in some of the joints, but the cane is it far from wobbly and easily provides the support I need for my 250+ lb frame. The length adjustment is all contained in the top section, which telescopes in 1" increments. As I have an unusually long torso, I'd like it better if it would go 1" longer than its 37" maximum, but this seems to fit in with the standard length of most adjustable canes I've found. For maximum stability, be sure to securely tighten the threaded collar at the bottom of the adjustable section once you've set it to your chosen length. The cane must be set at its minimum length, or near to it, to fit into the carrying bag. This is not a big issue for me, as I seldom have need to store it in the bag, but this could be an issue for users who adjust to something longer than the minimum length and wish use the bag for frequent storage in a purse or other tote, as they would have to readjust the height every time they put it in or out of the bag. The top of each of the bottom three sections is fitted with a polymeric grommet through which the elastic cord passes. After only a few uses, the grommet on the bottom section separated and became stuck inside the mating tube of the section above it. That has made this joint very hard to separate when wanting to fold the cane. With the extensive use given on our cruise the last couple of weeks, the same thing has happened in the other sections, but they are still coming apart fairly easily. The contoured handle fits my hand well and remained comfortable even over some extensive walking tours of several mile duration over cobblestones and steps. The black paint HAS gotten a bit dinged up revealing a lighter color underneath, but it is easily touched up with a black permanent marker. All in all, I am quite pleased with this cane. I deducted one star due to the need to readjust the length to use the storage bag, and for the grommets coming loose. ... show more

  • Cane: Good so far...Manual: BEWARE!!!
First the good... This cane is good and mine does not happen to have some of the issues reported by other reviewers. The height adjustment is ample (33 - 37 in.), the adjustments are not difficult to accomplish and the locking ring works as it is supposed to. An earlier reviewer mentioned great difficulty in collapsing the cane after use. I do not know if this is due to the amount of weight they have to place on the cane, but I am 75% weight bearing on my injured leg and of small frame, so I have not experienced any issues with assembly or disassembly. I cannot truly comment on the durability since I have only been using it for one week, but I can say that it does feel more solid than another one I had the opportunity to check out. This cane is rated to 250 lbs. THE BAD!!!... This is by way of the QUESTIONABLE instructions on how to use the cane, suggesting that it be used on the injured side!! Now let me state that as per a web search, there are some (FEW)users who do this, BUT it is not the currently recommended practise. I suspect that these individuals are likely full weight bearing and only use the cane to give balance and as additional security. I am recovering from a fracture on one leg. EVERY therapist, website, video or friend I have seen or spoken to suggest (no, INSTRUCT) that you use the cane on the strong side. By this I mean that in my case, my RIGHT leg is broken and I am using the cane in my LEFT hand opposite to the injured side. While this seems odd to someone who has never used a cane, I can guarantee that the minute you try to use it on the injured side, you will feel how unnatural and scary this feels. The fact is that while it may not sound this way, using it on the strong side is the safer and natural way to use a cane. It also promotes better gait which any PT will tell you avoids strains and other issues associated with poor gait over a long time. I cannot understand how a manufacturer can get something like this wrong. New users to assisted devices like this are asked to do their own research (Youtube, medical sites etc.) and disregard this product manual's advice. ... show more
