I purchased this Item to resurrect some old external full-size 3.5" Hard Drives, they are also compatible with 2.5" Laptop HDDs. I plugged the 3.5" Hard Drive in after removing it from the Iomega enclosure and the HDD was immediately recognized on my MacBook Pro via USB-C. I have not tried it directly with my Windows PC or Android yet but I assume it will work just as well as a Plug-and-Play HDD. It is very fast and so far has worked better than the original USB 2.0 External Iomega Enclosure the Seagate HDD came in. The Package included the HDD Connection Cable-to-USB, A/C Adapter and USB-C Adapter and all have worked flawlessly so far. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! ... show more

I got the SATA to USB 3.0 Adapter, External Hard Drive Converter Cable for 2.5" 3.5" HDD, SSD with Power Supply. It was worth every penny! It was "EXACTLY WHAT I NEEDED!" It was so Easy to Use on my OLD HARD DRIVE! I hooked it up, just plugged it in and it worked perfectly. Thank You! I was told my old hard drive died, yet I was able to access all my files, pictures and music. I am just tickled with this device! Actually, I'm amazed it was so easy. I'm still moving my files as I had so much on there. My data was so important to me. I also had a "200 Page Family Cookbook" I spent a year putting together and my BACKUP Seagate External Hard Drive did not copy all my files like it should have. Which I backed up regularly. That is when I started researching for this device. My sister thought I was tech savy...lol...I told her no, I just researched what my old hard drive needed for me to access my files. Then, I asked the question on here about whether or not it would work with my Seagate Barracuda 1000GB SATA Model ST 1000DM003. And I got many answers that said yes it should. So, I purchased it and it did work! By the way, "THANK YOU ALL so much for answering my question here because you helped me make the decision!" So, I know I'm not tech savy, but I know how to research and ask questions. And, I'm confident enough to try. So glad I did all this! Hope everyone who answered my question sees this review. I know it would have cost me so much more to have a company get all my data for me. Instead, I used this device myself and it worked perfectly! The main reason I bought this was to transfer files from a 2 TB Seagate drive (2.5 inch form factor). Specs say it should be compatible. It is not. I tried it on a few smaller drives, ranging from 120 GB to 750 GB and they mounted fine. But not being able to use it for the intended purpose, I'll be returning it to Amazon and will likely buy a different device that has a separate power supply ... show more
