    • Almost Decided To Return The Tire Carrier
The angle iron trailer tire carrier itself is as well built as expected, but nothing spectacular. Easy installation, not much to do to install. My main issue for 4 stars is that the tire installed at a significant angle and looked amateur, sloppy, and not so secure. After I bolted two short 2 x 4 pieces to my trailer frame, at the bottom of the tire, the tire straightened up perfectly and was very tight and secure to my expectations. Place a short 4" spacer between the tire and trailer and your tire will be straight and aligned with the trailer looking good. The only other issue is that installing and changing the tire will require two wrenches to loosen the bolts holding the tire. Would I purchase again for a second trailer, sure. Now I do not have to move my spare tire every time I haul something where the goal is to never have to use the spare tire - if you know what I mean. ... show more

    • Just what I needed.
This was exactly what I wanted and needed for my trailer. It was easy and quick to install. Shipped fast and efficient. Very pleased.

    • It works, but poorly executed. Too expensive for what it is.
This bracket does what its suppose to do but there are few things to watch out for. First off its crazy difficult to align the wheel spacing on the tire studs. Now whomever decided to use the wheel studs that came with this bracket I would like to publicly flog. Instead of using the common 1/2-20 studs that 95% of all trailers use they chose to use some metric off the shelf bolts. So don't try to use your wheel lug nuts, they wont work! This forced me to go the hardware store and source some 1/2 -20 2" bolts and lock nuts which cost me $20.00. This really rubs me because I bought this same mount 3 years ago and it was $22.50. It has since doubled in price so spending another $20 really ticked me off. These should have been included with this mount bracket. It also hangs out a little too far so there is 2" between my tire and the side of the trailer so its going to wobble more. There should be a way to adjust this but there isn't. I may have to weld this thing on my trailer to ensure it doesn't come off. Update: This thing will fall off your trailer! I ended up welding it on my trailer so its now a permanent fixture. Its Janky as F but welding it on resolves all issues. ... show more

I ordered your angle bar tire mount via amazon.com and used it for a week. the main bolt that holds the the tire to the angle bar loosens all the time. There was no lock washer in the box. I lost the bottom bar plate that hold the bottom part to the angle bar. there was no lock washer or lock botl in the box. I almost lost my spare tire. I paid the going price this product and there should have been better bolts and washers. I am having to buy my own lock washers and fabricate a new bottom plate to replace what I lost on the road. This was a very poor design and failure to provide better accessories. to ensure safety and security for my tire. ... show more

    • Overall a good mount for the money…
The mount is super sturdy and well made. The hardware is sufficient, but I would have even more confidence if the hardware was grade 8. Also, the lower mounting tab, that pulls against the bottom of the angle iron could be a touch larger (another piece of mind component). I do plan to drill a hole through the mount and angle iron, to install a bolt, as others have mentioned. It’s precautionary overkill, but I know the spare will not break lose, once installed. ... show more
