I got this set of four roofing panels to do a bigger nesting box for my chickens. I added duck to the mix and they are a little bit bigger and no longer fit in the standard chicken size nesting boxes. And my husband is now talking about possibly turkeys and geese, which are even bigger lol. So I wanted to quickly have a solution in mind so we can start building before we get additional animals and then have to scramble. This way we can make something that's both pretty and functional, and not tossed together last minute. These panel pieces are a pretty good size, and we are making hours the shape of a lean-to So we are lining up All four in a row and mounting them to a plywood base That will ultimately have four slots that are about 2 and 1/2 ft wide, 2 and 1/2 ft deep, and 2 and 1/2 ft tall. With four of these wide you get about 11 ft of distance with the overlapping them to ensure a water type roof. And the leaning position keeps them from roosting on top of them and just covering the whole structure with poop overnight lol. So if you are using this very similar purpose, make sure you get a good downward angle for the roof. And whether you are doing them all in a row or doing a 2x2 method of making a square and steeple like a dog house shape, you'll definitely want a high enough angle that they won't be comfortable standing on it without sliding off. That will also keep the water from standing on this as well to preserve the surface against rust for many many years. These are a nice gauge of metal so they are not flimsy or floppy at all. But they are still fairly easy to work with because they are a small size to start with, so it doesn't feel overwhelming like getting the large sheets at a local department store. And the fact that these are already painted is a huge bonus. Generally you can only find sheets in a galvanized finish, or white, and sometimes brown for some reason. But that dark brown retains a lot of heat, and white will get discolored almost immediately. So I wanted something late, but also that wouldn't look dirty instantaneously just from the chickens kicking up dust in the coop. We just finished the blueprints and our starting to assemble everything, but love this set and very happy to have found it and would highly recommend it for those making dog houses, animal houses, or anything like that. It looks pretty and is incredibly heavy duty and functional So the value for the money is great.

Very convenient for a small project if you need the exact size. We ordered them for two projects- reroofing our well tank, and to make a small overhang for the side of the chicken coop where I store the feed barrels and some how when it rains the barrels leak from the tiniest hole and water gets in. The metal on these is on the thinner side so it needs to be supported by a structure underneath. They also scratch easily so we’ve already had some pain removal just through storage and moving them around. But for certain uses they are fine. The package also included sheet metal roofing screws which adds value and convenience.

I was a little surprised to see that you can order metal roofing panels from Amazon. They are indeed small panels at 36” wide by 32” long but are ideal for small projects. Be aware that the overlap when installing reduced the width of each panel from 36” down to 33”. These panels are 0.013” thick which puts them somewhere between 29 and 30 gauge metal. The standard roofing metal thickness you buy at a building supply store is usually 28 gauge so they are a little bit thinner but you shouldn't notice any difference in performance for a very long time. They are a cream color on the exposed top side and are white on the underside. This set of four panels arrives in one box and a set of stretchy fabric gloves is included. One tip on choosing fasteners for metal roofing that I learned is that usually the first thing to fail in any metal roof system are the rubber-like washers on the screws that form a waterproof seal when installed. I have a large building where the roof started to leak at about the 30 year point and it was because the flexible washers on the screws degraded. There are also differences in the type of screws you can buy. The old original style had a separate washer but there are newer ones available that look like a dome cap that is integral to the screw head and these are much better. Pricing is appropriate for the square footage of these panels. The ability to order them from Amazon and have them delivered is super convenient if your project can use smaller panels like these. Recommended.

We have had older, used metal panels above our small backdoor porch for a while now and they needed replacing. They are a hodgepodge of different sizes and when the wind picks up, they make odd noises which scare the kids at night. So, when these white panels came across my feed, I was super excited to get them. Not only did they come in great shape, but the 4 metal panels are a great fit for the space. It was easy to drill the special screws into the panels and the grooves latch into each other to prevent water seepage. I feel like the white color might be blinding during the full summer sun, but on the other side of that coin, it will help keep the space cool by reflecting more light.

We were looking for a bit of roofing to cover an area we feed strays. This seemed like a good kit for just that purpose and it turned out to be even better than expected. First of all, this is way sturdier than I would have thought, given the price. I imagine this will hold up for literally years. The panels are galvanized and corrugated. They were packed well enough that even large items like this arrived in great shape and they included mounting hardware. As a pleasant surprise these were super-easy to install as well. For any small project where you just need to install some roofing that will likely last longer than your project this is an easy recommendation.
