Apply generous amount of adhesive, sprinkle granules, then gently pat granules into adhesive. Would recommend wearing gloves These roofing granules are packaged in a 1/2 gallon jar with 6 pounds of granules inside.

Great coverage on spot repairs. Was able to repair some minor granule loss on my asphalt shingle roof. However, I would've given a higher rating if an approximate coverage area (per 6 lb container) was listed on the product label or in the description. These are the color of most white shingles and seem to be the same as used on asphalt roofing tiles. Granules are important to keep the underlying material and tar from degrading due to UV light exposure. Anytime asphalt tar is applied on the roof, even as a caulking, it is best to apply some granules to protect the tar. Just sprinkle them on fresh tar and push them in a bit. ... show more
