The top of the box was open and the top of one of the flanges was bent. Was able to straighten it out with pliers. If I wasn't in need of it right now I would have sent it back. Seems to be a common problem. But did work out perfectly..

I was concerned it may not be exactly what I needed. But it is perfect. It allowed us to install a new wood stove with ease. After months of use, these pipes have held up perfectly. The interior pipes have very little buildup of creosalt. They were painted with a spray paint for high temperatures nearest the wood stove and exterior with regular spray paint (not recommended). None of this has faded or burned off. Perfect product for our wood stove application. Took the guesswork and the mess out of installing the stove pipe and gave us the reassurance that with the double wall our safety is at the forefront.
