I would recommend to de-gas this for a week or more. This is my third purchase of this. I bought one over two years ago to cover up the unsightly looking water softener at the entrance of my home. Luckily it was kept outside, but it took about a week to get the smell away from the entrance. I couldn't imagine putting this indoors. I recently moved and have put these again on the patio outside. Two years have passed since I purchased these, and i was hoping the smell would of been gone, but it isn't. It's not necessarily a chemical smell, but it's something, and it's pungent. Regardless of that, they hold up to direct sunlight beating for over two years, and although my originals are covered in dust and spider webs, they still are holding up and still just as green. I bought more this time. 4 of them covered a 145'W x 44" railing on my patio perfectly. As you stretch them they get shorter, and lose density, so it was nice to be able to get enough of these to fit well and keep density for a reasonable price.

Worked out great and really freshens up the space and appearance up close and afar. It was easy to install with the zip ties provided. They have held up great with the crazy winds and storms. I did have to retighten the leaves from time to time to ensure it doesn’t unravel but once you it positioned the way it’s gonna stay, you can place a dab of super glue to make sure it stays in place. Lightweight, provides shade, and versatility to the space.

Okay, I made this purchase about 2 years ago, so here is how the fencing has held up. I bought 2 to use as privacy for our apartment balcony. Overall, I would not buy them again. They definitely look nice, I like the color. My problem though is how often leaves come off. At this point it's lost a lot of leaves and it will need replacing as we've lost our privacy. But I am constantly picking up the fake leaves. They blow everywhere, even beyond our balcony. I find them in the stairwell, on the apartment lawn, in the parking lot. I'm always picking them up, feeling embarrassed of the mess it leaves behind. I don't like that it adds unnecessary waste to the environment. After being outside for a while most of the material has become super brittle and is falling apart. So I feel confident in saying about 2 years is what you'll get out of it. But you'll be picking up garbage the whole time. I'll be finding something without leaves next time.

The media could not be loaded. Looks great and was easy to install with the provided zip ties although i’d recommend longer zip ties if your railing is thick like mine is, the provided zip ties are on the shorter side making for a tighter fit. Overall i love the protect, I’ve had it outside for almost a year and have not noticed any fallen leaves!
